Oct 16, 2013 - Woodstock to Croton-On-Hudson, NY

October 16 Second day to wear shorts! Yesterday was in the mid 70’s but today may not warm up as much. Drove down 9W west of the river to Kingston where Bob had the tires checked. Fellow estimates we have 10,000 miles left on them which should get us home. Our first stop was Storm King Art Center in New Windsor which I had known about but is not well publicized. Storm King is a 500 acre “sculpture landscape” with a permanent collection of monumental sculptures from the 1960’s to the present. In 1961 Ralph Ogden acquired 14 works by David...

After we sent Holleh and Nicole off we left the next day. We cruised about 36 miles up the Hudson River to a small village in NY called Croton On Hudson. It appears to be a bedroom community with commuter trains whizzing past our marina on a pretty regular schedule. The Half Moon Bay Marina came highly recommended by the reviews of America's Great Loop Association. However, it falls mighty short of the reputation it boasts. We are not going to move though. Maggie has already set up an Orthopedic Dr. appt. and Camden has been set up for her...

More photos coming. You know how it is ... you take a bazillion pictures because you're shooting digital and it doesn't "cost" you anything. Then you try to do this uploading stuff and find that the memory stick is at home and you can't upload all the photos you wanted to.... so you'll have to wait a bit for more pictures. You know Jim. He’s up before the crack of...

We are going to stay here for 2 weeks. We are staying at a beautiful State Park on the Hudson River. Lots of place to ride our bikes all along the Hudson River. Hiked around The Rockefeller Preserve, Swan Lake was full of waterlilies that were blooming. The train station is right down the rode. We will wake the train into New York City.

Oct 12, 2007 - New York City

Hi Everyone. Since I wrote last, while still camped in Rhode Island, we drove into Conneticut and walked around Mystic and New London. In New London we got to go onto the beach. Mystic was a nice little seaport, with quant homes and lots of shops, and ofcause boats. They had a drawbridge that opened while we were there. Must have been a hundred years old. Met a retired gentleman there who stopped us in the street when he saw Dick's Glazer National Park T-Shirt, where he to had visited. He lives in New Jersey. Had been to Oregon as well, and...
