Aug 15, 2009 - Cranberry Lake Canoe Trip

Me and Minhee took a weekend canoe trip to Cranberry Lake, one of the largest and most remote lakes in the Adirondacks. Of course it is one of the closest lakes to Ft. Drum so it doesn't seem so remote to us. It was the hottest and most humid day all year. We canoed 7 miles to our campsite on Saturday and enjoyed a nice swim in the lake. We brought along our snorkeling gear but the water was too muddy to see anything. On Sunday morning, we hiked 5 miles to the top of Cat Mountain. Jun 13, 2009 - June 10, 2009 Adirondacks Cranberry Lake NY

We have some pictures of our host family, Anne and Cheech. We stayed with them Sunday June 6th. They invited us for dinner and an overnight stay. I hope you enjoy the pictures at her home. We talked about this friend in our last journal entry. We left for the Adirondacks in New York. We had reservations for Cranberry Lake which was just awesome, but very primitive. Jun 7, 2009 - Cranberry Lake

On the way back from Plattsburgh we checked out the Cranberry Lake Campground -- part of the Adirondack Forest Preserve Camping network in northeastern New York State. Our son, Eric, and his family camped there a couple of years ago, and thought it was really nice. What a beautiful place! There are no hookups, but the sites are large, level and easy to get into.
