Oct 1, 2014 - Day 39

100 miles, 14.84 average, 40.16 maximum speed, 5466 feet climbing. Big climbing day - felt pretty good - finally remembered to stretch legs before riding. Rode thru Watkins Glen and Ithaca New York today - was thru here a couple of years ago on another bike ride. Ithaca is home of the ivy league school Cornell. This is a small town so we are staying in two different hotels - not far from each other. Tomorrow is our fifth 100 mile ride in a row - the last century of the tour.

Aug 4, 2013 - Adios por agora! Te amamos!

Another sad day for us...time to hit the road again. We have had a wonderful visit will all of our Children and Grandchildren. The temperature was in the low 60's this morning. We hooked up the RV and prepped it for travel the night before just leaving the electric on, leveling blocks and chocks to be taken care of in the morning. Up about 6:30 and it was another chilly night. We had coffee, reminisced for awhile and took some pictures of the purses that Nicki and I helped the girls make. We took a few other pictures and then were ready to...

Aug 3, 2013 - Widrick House

Up early today because it's race day. Nicki, Sadi, and Sunday are entered in The 5k Mad Cow Run to benefit CAP. The In Your Pace Running Club is an informal group of friends consisting of fun-loving and charitable recreational runners of all ages, sizes and athletic abilities. The bighearted group will donate race proceeds to Community Action Partnership, a local non-profit that helps individuals and families in Madison County become and remain self-sufficient. Last year, the event raised $3,000 for CAP! Nana, Papa, Faith, Tallon and Kaiden...

Aug 1, 2013 - Widrick House

We woke up around 7:00 am. Nana made pancakes, sausage and bacon. Yum yum!! We enjoyed and caught up on everything with Nicki and the kids in the morning. Then off to Cazenovia Collage pool for a swim in the afternoon. A little chilly but it was heated and not bad! Free swim was from one to four and we stayed the whole time! We had a great time. The Grandchildren were all swimming around like fish. One of the life guards on duty decided that he would spend most of his time texting which was really annoying...why is this? Towards the end of...

Left Treasure Isle RV park at 8:00 after dumping the tanks. We arrived at Nicki's around 9:00 am, Nicki was at the vets with Rudy. We got the tour of Nicki and Greg's new house. Joan helped Nicki with the old sewing machine and fixed some shorts for the girls. The girls made purses! At 5:30 we all headed to Tallon and Kaiden's baseball game. It was their last game so they received awards and had a pizza party afterwards. After all was finished we headed home for pizza and a drink! Apr 17, 2008 - Playing in the snow

Thursday April 17…9:20pm Yes, we played in the snow this evening. We’re parked at the base of the Cazenovia Ski Hill, and when we hiked up to the top, there were still some patches of snow on the hill. But it was a totally beautiful day…in fact you couldn’t ask for much better. Got up at 7:15am, and it was not so cold despite not having any services…temperature at the bedside was 8.5C (47F) so it didn’t take long with the sun shining in the window for things to warm up. I didn’t realize that Ithaca NY is the home of Cornell University. No...
