Sep 23, 2012 - Chester to Ossipee

Today, Sunday we travelled from Chester to Ossipee via North Hampton Beach. Very warm day and there were people sunbathing on the beach. Went for a short drive around the Ossipee area, stopping at Chocura Lake, looking across to Mount Chocura, Crystal Lake, outside Eaton, where we found this lovely little white Church. Returning to Ossipee via Dan Hole Pond. Fall foliage has not reached its best yet, although some of the Maple trees have changed to a deep red. Tomorrow we take a trip on Lake Winnepesauke.

Aug 27, 2010 - Ossipee, New Hampshire

8/27 – 8/29 Another 104 miles (I-95, US202, SR115, SR35, SR25, SR16) brought us to the Beaver Hollow campground in Ossipee, New Hampshire. We came to this area to visit with ML (Mary Lynn) and Jeff who summer at The Bluffs in Freedom, Maine. Ken and ML were colleagues at Xerox in Leesburg, Virginia. ML and Jeff gave us tour of their new trailer and, recently completed, enclosed porch. They also gave us a tour of their park. Sep 2, 2009 - New Hampshire

It has been a long day driving smaller backroads and enjoying the scenery over the mountains of New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire. We visited Fort William Henry on Lake George, New York this morning. It is a beautiful place. The Fort was used as the basis for the movie “Last of the Mohicans.” Unfortunately, Daniel Day Lewis wasn’t there to greet us….darn! The original fort was destroyed in 1757 during the French and Indian War. This replica was built in 1950 from the original blueprints. The survivors of the attacks on this fort was...
