Oct 1, 2011 - New Hampshire

New Hampshire is now our favorite New England state. Could it be because we were there as the leaves changed into their multicolored majesty? We camped just out of a little mountain town, Ashland, in the White Mountains. Our campsite was very centrally located; we were not too far from any of the areas we wanted to visit. Squam Lake was only a hop, skip and jump away from our home base. It was the lake that was the location for the movie On Golden Pond. That was a really neat thing to learn. It was more beautiful in person than on the “big...

Nov 3, 2010 - A Day Off

Well I was tuckered out after yesterdays activities and staying up late to watch the election results. I decided to just hang around here today and not drive anywhere. So thats pretty much what I did. So no pictures for today and nothing exciting to report. I am over in the Amenities Building now and have had a nice relaxing afternoon. I have been doing a little planning for next year and getting all lined up for that. This is a nice peaceful resort this time of year but still plenty to do to keep you busy if you want to be. I lined up some...

Oct 31, 2010 - A Lazy Day-Football-Racing-GeoCache

Well today was pretty much like I think the first day of a vacation should be. I woke up around 8 and started my day with a nice cup of coffee. Then some breakfast and caught up on my email and blogs that I read. I have been working on some databases so I did a little work on those also. Then before I knew it time for lunch. Then the football games came on and the NASCAR race. I watched them while continuing to work on the computer. The race ended around r and I decided to go out for a while. Wow it was cold and windy. I did a little...

Oct 30, 2010 - Arrived in Laconia, New Hampshire

I pulled out of Rutland this morning and headed to the top of the mountain toward the Killington ski area. Then as I passed the Pico Mountain resort I thought I was seeing things. There was a blizzard going on. They were actually making snow now for several of their ski slopes. It was in the mid 30s this morning but it still was quite interesting . The drive over was really nice there is still some color in the leaves and nice views along the rivers and valleys. I was missing our Mini Cooper on the winding roads. However the state speed...

Oct 7, 2010 - Apple Pickin'

Today was fun. First, Tom & Donna came by the trailer today and we caught up with life. Weddings, Grandchildren, etc. After having lunch in town, we went apple picking in Laconia, NH. We picked a small bag of Cortland and Macintosh, of which Scott promised, at least 1, homemade Apple Pie (yum!). After apple pickin’ we visited a bit more then took a backwoods drive back to the trailer.

Oct 22, 2005 - Ashland, New Hampshire (und viele Kürbisse!)
