Oct 7, 2013 - Vermont & New Hampshire

Man....again I had written so much and lost it because I lost KOA wifi!!! But it saved my pictures which is good. I am writing this on Wednesday, Oct. 9 because we haven't had reliable wifi. And now I know this isn't that reliable either! Started the day with sunshine but storm soon caught us. We were getting alerts of severe thunderstorms in our area. And our nephew, Jase, called to make sure we were watching the storms. The day wasn't all rain but it did get worse as the day went on. We weren't in any hurry and spent the day leisurely...

Nov 4, 2010 - Rain Rain Go Away

As stated yesterday I planned to do some more geo-caching today. Well I woke up and it was raining. But what the heck I needed to get out after staying in most of yesterday. So out I went and the rain was not too bad to start with. I was able to find 7 caches in all which makes 20 out of 21 for the trip. The one I could not find I believe was missing as another cacher who has found over 2000 caches could not find it either. I will tell you that it rained harder and harder the longer I stayed out. I was pretty soaked by the time I got back...

Jul 19, 2009 - Being Grammy

Note to readers: If you sometimes get too much of grandmothers and their grandchildren, you might want to skip this entry. This is the week that got us moving towards New England- time with son Derek, daughter-in-law Kristine, AND grandson Clark in Gilford, New Hampshire! We spent the first five days of our week in Ellacoya State Park within the village limits of Gilford. For the last two days, we moved to the Blackwelder's driveway. It was a little tight, but Jim knows how to back a motorhome! Derek and Kristine were able to provide water...

Nov 15, 2008 - It's Grammy Time!

Okay, we've been home from our family vacation for about a week. Time for Beth to be Grammy! In early November, I took a little time away from hot, sunny Florida to travel to cold, cloudy New Hampshire to visit with my son and his family. At the same time my brother David from Marion, Virginia flew up for a visit and trip to his favorite dentist- nephew Derek! Of course, the biggest attraction for both "Unca Davey" and me was grandson Clark! Clark is 20 months old. He moves and talks non-stop. David and I like to plan our visits at the...

Jun 1, 2008 - The Lakes Region of New Hampshire- Family First

We're leaving New Hampshire today. We have had a wonderful time visiting with family and experiencing the beauty of the Lake Region of New Hampshire. We were not too impressed with our campground, however. Family first. . . . My son Derek, wife Kristine, and son Clark just moved into their new home. They hope to live there until their child(ren?) are grown. Jim and I grandson-sat for three days while Mom and Dad took an anniversary trip to Boston. I did the hard work- like changing diapers, feeding, bathing (poor me)- while Jim "just...

Nov 5, 2007 - Back to Jim

The last few days have been wonderful- at least for me! I've spent that time with my grandson (and his mom and dad, of course). I thoroughly enjoyed shadowing Kristine and Clark as they went to yoga at the gym and baby story-telling at the library. I met the folks with whom Derek and Kristine work at the dental office. Jim and Blue came up on Saturday- by car. They travled from New York during the nor-easter that moved through on Saturday (HEAVY rain and winds). We all went to church together on Sunday before returning to the motorcoach...
