Wednesday 04 March 2015 Time to give the new braking system a test trial. We are headed to Yerington, Nevada for five nights. We arrived a long hour later at Weed Heights RV park without any difficulties. Hooray and Yippee Skippee. We quickly set up in space 43, full hook-ups and pleasant surroundings. Those surroundings being the closed Anaconda Copper mine. The colors in tailing varying from light sand to dark ruby with mingling edges of aquamarine green. Yeehar, and welcome to Yerington, Nevada - situated in the traditional country of Paiute people and a fertile valley growing alfalfa, onions, potatoes and garlic, and filled with cows, horses and a few alpacas. This is real 'wild west' country - sweeping plains covered in low scrub surrounded by scenic mountains. The highest mountains are still snow covered, although the snowmelt and a lot of winter rain has caused the Walker River (which flows through Yerington) to rise sharply.
