Apr 11, 2018 - Day # 18

Today began with high hopes. They were sure they had located and corrected the electrical issue. This should eliminate the problems and we will finally be cured. BUT...SHAZAM...it did not. We had traded emails with Spartan and had instructions for Cummins. We were up and ready for them to take the Bus by 7:15. And they did. They were going to run the engine on the dyno...About 10:00 they told us the electrical issue was cured but it had failed the dyno test. Still getting low fuel pressure notice...#2215. They would continue to trouble...

Apr 10, 2018 - Well Heck...it is deja vu all over again

Hummm, this place looks familiar...BUT...Well, it damn sure is...Cummins lot... The rest of Sunday was spent watching and enjoying the Masters. Loved the move by Jordan Spieth and Ricky Fowler. Then about 2 1/2 hours in the second floor laundry room at the hotel. During the Masters, I sneaked out to Five Guys. Burgers and golf. After laundry we heated up the left overs from Saturday's dinner. Before I forget it, I have included in today's posting a couple of pic's I took at breakfast Saturday. Nothing like eating outside in pleasant...

Apr 2, 2018 - Leaving Cummins

Today marked a small bright spot for us. We left the Cummins RV space. We had been to W W Williams to see if they could handle the work of finding the leak in the fuel line. They assured us they would look at it and tell us what it would cost and try to complete the repair. Immediately we headed back to the Bus to prepare for moving. Believe me, there are enough memories, that I do not want on that spot. We moved to the Williams facility about 2.5 miles away. Before they could take the Bus in to get started, I had to move the bicycles and...

Apr 1, 2018 - Sadie leaves for Heaven

Twelve years ago today the Lord blessed Sue and me with Sadie. We adopted her from the Animal Shelter. She was a Hurricane Katrina survivor that had been brought to Little Rock from the New Orleans area. She was meant to be our dog. She had been adopted before we got her but when the folks that adopted her found out she was about to have puppies they returned her. Her last puppy was adopted the day before we arrived and we chose each other. We have never looked back. She and Sue bonded immediately since Sue was working from home at that...

Mar 31, 2018 - Now What???

Start by noticing our location. We are still on the parking lot of Cummins. I did not post last evening because I was exhausted. Exhausted mentally as well as well as physically. We had the Bus ready when the tech (Bryan) came to pick it up about 7:20. We then headed for Las Vegas south of the Strip and McCarron Airport. We ended up at IHOP for breakfast. Then we headed for the Apple store. We found the store in Town Center shopping center. We were able to park in front of the store and make sure the car would be in the shade so that we...

Mar 29, 2018 - Harumph...still no Pahrump

We started early and the tech came out about 7:20 a.m. to pick up the Bus. We talked for about 15 minutes then he took the Bus to the service bay and we headed to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Out goal for today was get the problem resolved and get to Pahrump. Well, if you see our location you will guess that we are still on Camp Cummins lot. They think they have determined we have too much air in the fuel lines. OK...get it out and let's move on. It would be nice to know why but let's move forward. Then they tell us to check all the fuel...

Mar 28, 2018 - Here we stay again...Camp Cummins

Well, let me start by saying that Cummins is a poor campground. Parking lot slopes, there is only an electric hookup and we are here for our second night. I also need to say this overnight space is paved, does not have dirt and rocks that are in the air all the time and all the buildings around block off about 90% of the wind. All in all they offset. So how did we get to stay again? We went over to the office about 8:00 a.m. We discussed all the information Sue and I compiled about the issues with the Bus. They were starting on the paper...

Mar 27, 2018 - Try to leave again...

The wind blew all night. Speeds were up to 35 mph over night. This morning it was expected to continue. And the forecast was right. It was howling. Grit was in the air and being outside was like being sandblasted. I started to prepare to leave this morning when I noticed the truck, trailer and boat in one of the attached photos. I cannot imagine trying to drive something like that in this wind. I was glad we were not going to be following him. After much confusion about the time of departure (and after Avi charged me for another full day...

Apr 8, 2017 - Honda Accident

We had a knock on our door very late last night, it was about 11:00 PM. A new neighbor had moved in and took the RV spot right in front of us, he was pulling a toy hauler. When he turned into his pull-through site the back of his toy hauler hit our car. Yikes! It did a lot of damage to the side of our car. He had already called his insurance company when he knocked and had a claim number from Progressive for us. They are going to pay for all the damage. We ended up staying another day in Vegas to talk to the Progressive Insurance and make...

Apr 6, 2017 - Last Update Vegas

This will be our last update from Las Vegas. We are doing the laundry and packing everything up on the inside today. We will be working on the outside tomorrow, packing the chairs, rugs, window screens and more, getting ready to roll on Saturday. It is amazing how much stuff you have outside when you park in the same place for two months. :) We will be making our way to the Oregon Coast over the next few weeks, with stops along the way in California. We are hoping to stop at some of our favorite spots on the way. Will do updates on the site...

Feb 8, 2017 - Back in Vegas

This is a quick update to let everyone know we have arrived in Las Vegas. We left Tonopah this morning and drove about 220 miles. We are all set up for the next two months. We will be visiting with family and doing some exploring too. The weather in Las Vegas is wonderful, we are very happy campers. Most of the drive today was desert and sagebrush bushes with a few towns in between. I am adding a few pictures from the trip and hope you enjoy. Check back later for more from Las Vegas, let the fun begin! :)

Apr 1, 2015 - El Mirage to North Las Vegas

Shut down of the coach went very well. It takes me three to four days to pack everything in the car for use during my travels, store what needs to be stored in the coach and then take care of the technical issues ( water in batteries, flush tanks, treat gas and other tanks with chemicals for the hot summer, etc). The driver arrived promptly and my coach was parked in it's covered storage spot by 9:45 this morning. Took care of some last minute shutdowns and then I was off. Made it as far as North Las Vegas, Nevada with a stop in Kingman for...
