Apr 8, 2017 - Honda Accident

We had a knock on our door very late last night, it was about 11:00 PM. A new neighbor had moved in and took the RV spot right in front of us, he was pulling a toy hauler. When he turned into his pull-through site the back of his toy hauler hit our car. Yikes! It did a lot of damage to the side of our car. He had already called his insurance company when he knocked and had a claim number from Progressive for us. They are going to pay for all the damage. We ended up staying another day in Vegas to talk to the Progressive Insurance and make...

Apr 6, 2017 - Last Update Vegas

This will be our last update from Las Vegas. We are doing the laundry and packing everything up on the inside today. We will be working on the outside tomorrow, packing the chairs, rugs, window screens and more, getting ready to roll on Saturday. It is amazing how much stuff you have outside when you park in the same place for two months. :) We will be making our way to the Oregon Coast over the next few weeks, with stops along the way in California. We are hoping to stop at some of our favorite spots on the way. Will do updates on the site...

Feb 8, 2017 - Back in Vegas

This is a quick update to let everyone know we have arrived in Las Vegas. We left Tonopah this morning and drove about 220 miles. We are all set up for the next two months. We will be visiting with family and doing some exploring too. The weather in Las Vegas is wonderful, we are very happy campers. Most of the drive today was desert and sagebrush bushes with a few towns in between. I am adding a few pictures from the trip and hope you enjoy. Check back later for more from Las Vegas, let the fun begin! :)

Apr 1, 2015 - El Mirage to North Las Vegas

Shut down of the coach went very well. It takes me three to four days to pack everything in the car for use during my travels, store what needs to be stored in the coach and then take care of the technical issues ( water in batteries, flush tanks, treat gas and other tanks with chemicals for the hot summer, etc). The driver arrived promptly and my coach was parked in it's covered storage spot by 9:45 this morning. Took care of some last minute shutdowns and then I was off. Made it as far as North Las Vegas, Nevada with a stop in Kingman for...

Mar 9, 2014 - Keselowski Sweeps

And a great weekend it was. Weather sunny but windy, old friends met and acquaintances renewed, too much food and beer(imagine). I went to qualifying on Fri and I agree I like the new format, speeds were up(top 19 all beat previous track record) and it put a sense of urgency back in the drivers voices. Saturday race was good with Keselowski outrunning Kyle Busch and then on Sunday for those that didn't watch Keselowski wins again passing Dale Earnhardt Jr on the last lap for the win(JR ran out of gas unfortunately almost made it). Crowd...

Jun 6, 2013 - North Las Vegas to Lone Pine

We stayed two nights at the Hitchn Post RV Park in North Las Vegas, NV and visited Brian’s brother David and his new friend Gayle (sp?). It was hot (105) during our stay. So we were glad to leave for Lone Pine, CA on June 6th. We departed our campground in North Las Vegas at 6:00 am to beat the heat along the route. Our route was north to Beatty, NV then west across Death Valley NP to Lone Pine. While it was the shortest (233 miles), it was also steep (some 8-12% grades) and hot (105) degrees at 9:15 am near the bottom in Death Valley. The...

Jun 29, 2012 - In North Las Vegas

Even my eyeballs felt like they were burning in the 106 degree temps yesterday in Vegas. On Wednesday we were supposed to stay in Carson City, NV after visiting John's son's niche where his cremated remains lie. But, John had a complete meltdown that evening and after much anger, tears, and confusion, he said he couldn't stay in that town nor even eat there and so, we got back in the car and drove nearly another 100 miles before finding a motel in a dinky little town. We really had no idea where we were. Thank the Lord we were safe and the...

Mar 4, 2012 - 240 Miles to North Las Vegas

The usual travel-day happenings this morning with one wonderful exception! Jerry detected earlier this week our water pump was kaput! So, we knew when we first reached Las Vegas, our first stop would be to Camping World to buy a new one. Consequently, he spent some of yesterday reading on-line about what he needed for the installation and fortunately for us this also gave him a chance to learn more about the water pump and voila - we no longer need one! He disconnected our water hose this a.m., pushed the filter button, air escaped, then...

Oct 14, 2011 - Update from Vegas

We have received a lot of messages asking if we are okay. We are doing fine, we still miss Ollie much. Our family has helped us tremendously by keeping us busy as beavers in Vegas. We have been to two shows, Barry Manilow & Gordie Brown. Both were awesome! We have watched many movies with our grandsons. Big Jerry and Little Jerry went fishing, Big Jerry caught a nice Trout. Thanks again for all the notes we have received about Ollie. One of the most appreciated notes came from two of our loyal readers this week. They said they have not...

Sep 14, 2010 - North Las Vegas

Today is Tues Sept 14 – we have arrived in North Las Vegas another 136 miles – man is it hot and only 98 degrees!!!! We’ve heard it’s been in the triple digits several places. I went to take a shirt out from the cupboard above the bed and ALL the clothes are wet from the condensation we were getting in Yellowstone I guess. The temperature outside was still 82 when we went to bed. Turned out to be a low of 70 finally.
