Dec 25, 2011 - Christmas Day

We had the pleasure of having a 3/4 Roudebush Christmas at The Gingrich home in Gardnerville, NV. I say 3/4, because we were missing Bonnie, who joined us by phone from Austin. Kristen and Mike welcomed Mom, Allen, his girlfriend Stephanie, her mother Sheryl (from Oregon!), Mike's father Ralph, David, Hannah and I. Mike's mom, Joann, was not feeling well, so she was not with us. Yes, it was a full house. I had picked up desert and dinner rolls from Freeport Bakery. Kristen and Mike made their amazing lasagna and salad, and we all ate way...

Dec 7, 2011 - Hello! Good Bye! Thanks for the bed

Thank you Kristen and Mike for letting us store some of our 'Stuff' in your garage until we get back this way. We left a number of boxes at Nancy's sister's house including items that Hannah will need when she moves out of her dorm and into an apartment next summer in San Diego. We arrived rather late after dropping other item at JT's house (friend Jeff) in Folsom. Those items will be loaded into our 5th wheel when we bring it back to Sacramento. Driving up to Gardnerville late at night with a fully loaded mongo truck that we just purchased...

Summer 2009

Oct 5, 2008 - Gardnerville, NV

It was clear and cool again this morning. I packed up and cleaned up. Rena made some coffee that was one of the best cups I have had in a while now. Adam and I headed to a street mall in Hollywood to see the sights and get some breakfast. There all kinds of vendors selling everything from organic produce to hot cooked meals to Obama buttons. We had some tasty food there and I bought a button. We drove around a little more and went up to the Hollywood reservoir for a look see. The architecture in the Hollywood hills is very diverse. We saw...

Oct 2, 2008 - We'll head 'em off at the pass? I hate that phrase!

Thursday 2nd October A good day. A very good - and tiring - day. Volcano is a little town just north of Pine Grove and is named for its setting in a bowl-shaped valley which early miners thought was caused by a volcano. The spot was discovered in 1848 by Colonel Stevenson's men, who mined Soldiers Gulch in 1849...
