Sep 29, 2006 - Catching the Subaru up to the bike and a couple more KATY tales

We arose to see Jack and George off on the final day of their Lewis and Clark ride. Later we took a mid-morning walk to further explore and photograph the downtown and riverfront areas of St. Charles. At eleven we met Karen who was so nice as to take us to the Amtrak Station in Kirkwood and thus save us a very expensive cab ride. This meant we had over 3 hours to kill before the train, but this was no problem at all as the plaza across from the Depot was hosting the season's final "Dine on Dance" lunch hour. This was a free modern dance...

TANDEM TRIP 06

Sep 24, 2006 - Transition Day: Cowboy Trail to Katy Trail and rain to sunshine!

Today was a drive from St. Joseph via Macon to Sedalia, Missouri. After driving east from St. Joseph we saw a sign for the Swan Lake National Wildlife Refuge (NWR). We can't resist a chance to see another NWR, so made a 15 mile detour. It was quite a beautiful area in Missouri but had very few birds and we saw no mammals. Back to the highway and headed to Macon. I (Marilyn) have two very dear friends who live in Macon. They are Laurele and Grisham White, ages 96 and 95 respectively. In spite of her near blindness from macular degeneration...

TANDEM TRIP 06

Apr 17, 2006 - Arrive Clinton, Missouri

We spent 4 days with the KC Wagoneer club. We got to know 6 other families. We had a covered dish lunch on Tuesday, ate in town on Wednesday. The regular business meeting was Thursday morning. We were voted in as members, since we had attended the required 3 meetings. We left there on Friday morning.
