Tues., June 5th – Once again, we are on the road for our anniversary. How blessed we are to be able to travel and enjoy being together after 49 years! Today we spent a few hours in Methuen, MA having a wonderful “over the top” lunch with Carla’s sister and family. Our day ended in Freeport, Maine where we’ll spend the next 3 nights. It’s chilly here, so I’ll be looking for a sweatshirt at LL Bean tomorrow….so nice to have an excuse for shopping!

Sep 7, 2012 - Gwen and her family in Methune, Massachusetts

Again we are trying to catch up with our blog. September 7-9, 2012 We visited with Gwen and her lovely family for several days. Unfortunately we had such a nice time we forgot to take one picture. We are so sorry that we never got any pictures because she is a hoot and so full of energy. Gwen has a fabulous husband, Steve, and two marvelous sons Kenneth, is married and has a darling wife and two busy grandchildren ages 3 and 6-years-old, and Andy, who still looks like Tom Cruise to me. Aug 2, 2012 - Preparations and Provisions

Lewis and I are making our final preparations for the journey. Camping equipment, guitars, and food provisions are being assembled among many other essentials that Lewis will need once he reaches his new home in LA. Check back tomorrow when we begin our nearly 4000 mile expedition.

Sep 10, 2011 - Homeward Bound

It was 44 degrees in Wyoming Thursday morning. We slept for a while at a rest area near the continental divide at an altitude of over 7000 ft. Fall is in the air here and the cool nights make for wonderful sleeping weather. The drive across Interstate 80 from the California coast to the northeast is quite long., but pretty. We have until Saturday morning at 7am to go 3,226 miles. While driving during the nights in Nevada and Wyoming I was reminded how incredibly brilliant the stars are out west.
