Jul 24, 2015 - Holy Crab!!

Holy Crab!!!

Jun 12, 2015 - On Cape Cod, Dennis Port

John here: Some pics of our first couple of days on the Cape. More later! And Patti adds... Friday 12 Arrived at Camper's Haven in Dennis Port, MA on Cape Cod. Our site was occupied so they put us on a temporary (FHU) site for two days. No problem – closer to laundry LOL. Sat 13 Space still not available. Today we went to a play, “The Great American Trailer Park “ musical in Harwich, MA. Small theatre, good performance. We also bought a new (gas) grill today as the charcoal grill is getting old and we seem to have a problem getting it to...

Sep 27, 2012 - Truckin' clipper chips

Time to get the oil changed on the big honkin' dually yesterday so off I went to Hyannis while everyone else layzed around. When it was done Don and Jeanne picked us up and drove back to Hyannis. We dropped the girls off for hair cuts and got the truck. From there we went to the Cape Cod Potato Chip factory tour. We had never been and it was neat seeing how their wonderful chips are made. Next to Best Buy where Shirley got her early birthday and Christmas present, a new camera. It is a dandy I must say and once again the pictures for the...

Sep 26, 2012 - There once was a man from Nantucket

What a cool day we four had as we took the bikes and the ferry to Nantucket Island. Don and Jeanne had been there before years ago but we had never visited. It was another beautiful day with the highs in the mid 60's, a great day for biking. The ride over is slightly longer than 2 hours so when we arrived it was time for lunch. We had packed picnic lunches and rode a short distance to a light house and ate on the rocks surrounding it. Next we biked to a beach about 3 miles along a mostly complete bike path. The views were fantastic and both...

Sep 25, 2012 - Cape Cruisader

The four of us took to the Cape Cod Canal bike path yesterday for a 12 mile jaunt. While Don and Jeanne have spiffy geared bikes we have beach cruisers with no gears. It was a beautiful day with bright blue skies making the water equally as blue. It was calm wind wise and the trip was just gorgeous. We stopped at the Corp of Engineers visitor center for the background on the development of the canal that was completed after a number of trys by the CCC in the '30s. After a picnic lunch we headed for a canal cruise but the days sailing was a...

Sep 24, 2012 - Wait for it

Another gorgeous day here at the Cape. We began our day at a church that is over 200 years old. Wait for it. Then home to do some much needed cleaning and organizing. Shirley reorganized the back of the truck where we keep all our stuff that isn't in the camper. She also cleaned the inside. I washed the truck and camper and cleaned the inside of the camper. Wait for it. Then off to the beach for a while and the water was actually swimmable although I wasn't dressed for swimming. Wait for it. When I returned we got the call. Wait for...

Sep 23, 2012 - Pilgram's Pride

We left Salem without visiting any of the witchy sights preferring to head to Plymouth to see the rock. We did indeed see it and next door was the Mayflower II. I thought it was going to be a "tourist" thing but it is the real thing. This was built as an exact replica of the Mayflower in 1957 and has been in the Plymouth harbor since being sailed from England where it was built. Not sure why we didn't see it in '75 when we were there but it was excellent. There was a nice display of information before we boarded and they had people dressed...

Jun 21, 2011 - Fishin'

Another great Cape Cod day. Got the oil changed on the Big Honkin Dually and the weather was a perfect sunny mid 70's so I decided it was a good day for a fishing trip. Shirley dropped me off at the docks in Hyannis and went back to the camper to be domestic. I now have some neat clothes that fit right. I left on a party boat with about 40 others for a 4 hour trip. I actually enjoy the boat ride the most and the camaraderie of the other fishers more that the fishing. I expect if I catch a fish it is a bonus. I actually had 10 bonuses! Yup...
