Jun 24, 2010 - Hanging out in IN

Slept until 8:30 am this morning - how nice is that??? Can't remember the last time we slept in. Picked up around the RV and had to wash 1 load that I forgot Tuesday. And then I have been farming and researching the family on Ancestry.com. Tonight we will pack away most everything that needs to be stowed, so we can leave rather quickly in the morning, heading to Holiday RV Park, in Grass Lake,MI. This will begin our month in MI. July 1 we head to Proud Lake. Have a great night. Heading to cook dinner.

Oct 10, 2008 - Lafayette, Indiana

This morning, it was crisp and clear again and we started the day off with a free breakfast at the campground - muffins and donuts. It seemed like it was really early, but with another time zone change (we are now in the Eastern Time Zone), it was almost nine o'clock before we got on the road. The days are definitely getting shorter already. It is really dark by 7:00 pm and the sun doesn't peak it's head up until around 7:00 am. -- We got back onto a smaller highway running parallel to the Interstate once again. We really enjoyed today's...

Pretty Damn Nice!

Sep 9, 2008 - Lafayette, IN

We're here in Lafayette, IN getting some work done on our RV. I had a brake air gauge go funky on me, so I had to find a Frieghtliner Center to fix it. While the RV is in the shop we get to stay in a hotel! My wife is very happy cause she gets to take a bath and soak her delecate skin in a nice hot water soak. HA! after 2 days, we did NOT get the air gauge fixed. The dealer had to order it and it would take 3 days. That was too long for us to sit around, so we got back on the road to Jacksonville. We'll get it fixed when we get back to Jax.

Aug 7, 2008 - Prophetstown State Park in Lafayette, Indiana

We’ve spent the last four days in Lafayette, Indiana. Four days- Lafayette, Indiana!! Why??? Well, I can tell you that the Prophetstown State Park located just outside of the city limits is an absolutely wonderful place to stay. We stayed here during the week. The campground is fairly new and not yet well-known. I understand that it is quite popular on weekends, but during the week there are few campers. It is quiet, peaceful, and incredibly relaxing. We started most days with a bike ride on the trail that travels the length of the park. We...

May 10, 2007 - Trip Started Finally

The day started with Sue finishing the mowing and I did a little trimming. We finished packing and were one the road at 1:30 PM EDT. We decided to take the back way for a change. This gave us a chance to stop by Airstream and have the fix applied to the refrigerator. The Airstream folks were very willing and quick to make the necessary Changes. It was a pleasant drive across Indiana. There were lots of farmers working in the fields. We were excited to see the herd's of Deere as we drove. It seemed they were everywhere. Arrived at Purdue at...

Alaska 2007

Apr 22, 2007 - Bon Voyage!

Today was my last official day in the United States :) Since I will be spending my birthday (April 25) in India, Meemaw & Pappaw threw me a birthday/"Bon Voyage" party to celebrate my 20th birthday, as well as my trip. We were blessed with beautiful weather in Crawfordsville, so it was a perfect day to spend out on the porch celebrating and talking about my fast-approaching adventure. Cosmo, my chihuahua, even got to have his part in the fun, too! It was a fabulous way to spend the day... My flight to Dulles leaves at 10:15 tomorrow...

Nov 22, 2006 - Heading South

Welcome! Emmy and I are heading to Chile and Antarctica for our honeymoon. We're going to try to update this site as we go along, more or less daily. The ship we're traveling on, the National Geographic Endeavour, was recently fitted with broadband internet access, so we should be able to update the site from the high seas. We've been looking forward to this trip since shortly after we got engaged. It should be quite an adventure for us, visiting new continents (2 for Emmy, 1 for Matt) and places. Antarctica has always been high on my...
