Jun 15, 2019 - Wendall ID – Intermountain RV Park

Roger found a new RV park for us to try on I-84 in Idaho. You could really get spoiled here. They have an ice cream social in the evenings. A dollar a scoop and they are BIG scoops. Then, in the morning, they have free, hot Belgian waffles. I’m not generally a waffle fan, but these were free, so I tried them and they were good. We’ll have to plan a stop here next time we go through Idaho.

Retired at Last!

Jul 27, 2014 - Wendell, ID

July 23 thru July 27, 2014 After leaving Seaside, OR we decided to make an overnight stop in Portland to give our farewells to our grandson Josh and his domestic partner Heather. Turned out, Josh started a new job that day so our visit was cut short but we enjoyed a very pleasant evening with both of them. Some of the best memories are the result of an unexpected find. That’s the case with a quick two night stop at the Intermountain RV Park in Wendell, ID. First we expected the campground to be poor at best and we would be roughing it with...

What difference a day makes. We had a tough drive to Rock Springs the day before and a very windy night, but the weather was fantastic for driving the next day. No wind and sunny all the way from Rock Springs thru Utah into Idaho. We stopped for the night at a small campground in Wendell (the self proclaimed "Hub of Magic Valley") off of I-84. The owner recommended a restaurant in Hagerman along the Snake River that we considered. We ended up driving to Twin Falls to see the canyon, which was spectacular. Then we went driving to find a...

We were able to leave Burns around 9 am. Despite the barren landscape, we find a certain beauty about it. Our biggest excitement of the day was to eat at Cracker Barrel in Boise, Idaho. It holds the honor of being the most westerly restaraunt. We ate here in 2010 as well. Intermountain RV Park is a 15 acre oasis in the midst of the Idaho desert. Their rate was very reasonable. They have a pet weight restriction of 25 pounds. Clearly, Zac exceeds that, but they let us camp. The large, mature trees favored sitting outside until dark. We...

Alaska Bound

Jul 27, 2007 - Wendell, ID

We had a good visit with Max and Joan Bowers. One night they brought their granddaughter, Emma, to meet us. Emma is a Gator fan and wanted to meet us. She came in with a U of F hat on and all smiles. She is the only real Gator fan in her family (the Bowers are originally from Ohio!). Freddy had a Gator magazine with us so we gave it to her and she was proud. She will be going into the 5th grade this year. She had heard Freddy on the answering machine, probably the only southern red neck she had ever heard. We are going to send her some...
