Jul 16, 2016 - Teton Peaks

I visited Grand Teton NP back in Aug. 2014 (2014 RV Adventure). GTNP is located in Western Wyoming, south of Yellowstone NP, near Jackson Hole. This year I experienced Grand Teton from the less-crowded-side, the Idaho/West side. I will not be entering GTNP, but will be viewing the magnificent peaks of the Teton Range from the Targhee National Forest. Grand Targhee Resort is a ski resort located in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest near Alta, Wyoming. It is 42 miles northwest of Jackson(Hole), accessible by road only by way of Driggs or...

Jul 26, 2012 - Camping in Idaho

We are now camping in beautiful Idaho. Very picturesque countyside everwhere you look. We are staying in a quite small town called Tetonia, very near the Wyoming border. The rv parks near Jackson were very expensive so we found this one close by in Idaho. You can see the back side of the Teton Mountains from where we are parked. Today we drove over to Jackson and Jackson Hole. Lots of people everywhere in both places. We went on through to Grand Teton National Park. The mountains are majestic with snow on top (we later found out this was a...

Go West Trip 2012

May 12, 2011 - On to Idaho...

Well, we’re finally out of Utah, but our arrival in Idaho was not a joyous occasion, at least not at the first campground we stayed in Pocatello. The main reason for staying here at a fairgrounds campground was convenience. Don bought a new set of tires for the truck and had them shipped to a shop in Pocatello which was near the campground. He was able to expedite installation early the next morning, after which we decided to leave as soon as possible. So on the 13th we drove to Tetonia, which was only a couple hours away from Red Rock RV...

Yellowstone 2011

Jul 21, 2009 - Day 14 - Lovely Lot 5

Once again Steven made coffee before waking me, only this time he filled our thermoses so we could take our time drinking our morning brew. We were on the road southbound out of Yellowstone at 5:10 a.m. Today was another marathon day, covering 270 miles over 14 hours. I’m sure that sounds crazy to some of you, but that’s just how we roll. Always have. We knew before we got here we would have at least two epic days, and we made the decision to do them at the beginning of our visit and spend our last two days visiting the park on a more...

Mar 18, 2009 - Wind, snow & fulltiming

We returned to Yellowstone in August 2007 with Steven's parents, Paddy and Elizabeth, who were visiting us from Ireland. We spent a glorious week at Madison campground in the park before moving south through Teton National Park, then over the pass from Jackson Hole into Idaho. We stayed at the Teton Mountain View Lodge and RV Park in Tetonia, which is just a few miles from Lot 5. Paddy and Elizabeth stayed at the lodge, and Steven and I, along with Zac and Tara, stayed in the RV section in Alfred Hitchpop. Zoe was away at camp and missed...

Mar 16, 2009 - Lot 5

Four weeks after we returned home from Yellowstone, Steven and I had a few days to ourselves, so we went back to the area. From Seattle, we flew into Boise, rented a car and drove to Jackson Hole. We had arranged to meet a Realtor in Driggs, ID, across the Teton Pass on our second day there. While there is little land available for private ownship on the Wyoming side of the Teton Mountains, everything is up for grabs on the Idaho side. Our Realtor drove us around the area, showing us one new development after another. We certainly weren't...

Nov 1, 2008 - Continued Car Problems; Tetonia, Idaho

Saturday, November 1, 2008 We decided to take another day in Belgrade to have the car realigned. It was vibrating terribly when driving above 55 mph. Shortly after getting up Rick called several places to see if he could make an appointment to have the Honda aligned. Firestone Complete Auto Care was able to provide the service at 2:00 pm. The dryer was once again not drying towels as quickly. This time we knew what to do. After Rick took off the louvered doors we pulled out the washer/dryer, unhooked the vent hose, and vacuumed the hose. It...
