Yes, it has been a long time since we last wrote an entry for this journal! Events have been coming at us too quickly to find time to even write about them, but the time has come to try to take a crack at summarizing what has been happening in our lives for the past five weeks. When we last wrote, we were staying in our membership park at Diamond Point near Sequim, Washington. We discovered there is a new state park under development nearby called Miller Peninsula State Park Property, so we certainly had to check out the hiking trails...

We have written about Pierce, Idaho, before. It’s a little town up in the hills above Lewiston and Orofino. It is also the home of Sharon’s cousin Harv and his wife Colleen. We know that we are not supposed to promote a business through our website, but here goes anyway: Harv and Colleen are the owners of the Outback Resort there in town. If you ever want to “get away” to just relax, sightsee, hunt, or any of the many other things you can do in the rural mountains of Idaho, give them a call. Sep 6, 2011 - Pierce, Idaho – The Outback, a Family Mini-Resort

After leaving Gillette, we retraced our steps west on I-90 along the Bighorn and Clark Fork rivers through Montana to US-12, over Lolo Pass into Idaho, down the beautiful Lochsa and Clearwater rivers past towns with Indian names like Kooskia and Kamiah to ID-11. There we crossed the Clearwater into the little town of Greer and traveled up the Greer Grade onto the Weippe Plateau.
