Oh Beautiful For Spacious skies For amber waves of grain For purple mountains majesty Above the fruited plains America! America! May 15, 2017 - Day 16 - Cambridge to New Meadows, ID
Today’s ride was a short, hilly, and windy journey to New Meadows, ID. The ride was only 48 miles with 2,884’ of ascent. From our campground (Mundo Hot Springs), Nancy gave me a ride in the Bus back to the ride start at the intersection of 95 & 55 in Cambridge. Starting was difficult. I didn’t want to put my bottom on the seat! I generally start off for a few miles saying to myself, “what am I doing and why”? Normally that lasts for about 5 miles and then I get “in the groove”. May 24, 2008 - New Meadows
The next morning we were determined to swim in the lake! There was patches of snow still on the ground but when we had checked the lake the night before it was only semi-cold. However, when we started to wade in the next morning things were a wee bit chillier! Kinda like glacier water actually...some how we both managed to dunk under and get our hair wet before calling it good! We were very refreshed though for those who are wondering!
