Leaving Mountain Home we headed east on I-84 to Declo, ID for one night. We stopped in Twin Falls and had our rig and truck washed which is always a good feeling. Just stayed one night as we needed to head into Pocatello to Ryan's for some repair work on the RV.

Fall 2019

Oct 10, 2014 - Declo, ID

Continuing our road trip home, we headed back out on I-80 to Hwy 30 to I-15 to I-86 then to I-84 to Declo, ID We stayed at Village of the Trees RV Park on the Snake River. We had stayed here when we were on our way to trade out our McKenzie for our Heartland Big Horn in Pocatello. We liked the park back then and decided to stay again. One of the nice things about this park is that they have a cafe/grill. We were able to order our dinner and they delivered it right to our rig. Very welcome after a big travel day. Would recommend this park to...

Sep 18, 2013 - Declo, Id

We’re making a little process on our next target, Yellowstone. We traveled east out of Eugene along the Columbia River, which would have been a fantastic drive except for the rain, which is why no pictures. We stopped at Baker City, OR and spent two nights. We wanted to visit the Oregon Trail Heritage Interpretive Center and we were not disappointed. The Center is a BLM Center and our Golden Pass Cards were honored, in other words,” Free”. We both agree that our covered wagon is far more comfortable than a Conestoga wagon. Today we...

Oct 23, 2012 - Back On The Road

After a few quick errands to pick up a last minute prescription and have my glasses fixed, we were ready to hitch up by 10 a.m. on Monday. Unfortunately it started raining and continued to rain almost the entire trip. Our first stop was just a three hour drive past Twin Falls to Declo where we're staying at the Village of the Trees RV Park on the Snake River. By the time we arrived, the rain had stopped. We have never been here before but we should have. It's a very nice park with lots of grass and mature trees. In addition, it's one of...

Sep 11, 2012 - Snake!

This morning, it was downright nippy as we hooked up and started traveling down the road again. The highs today here in Idaho are only supposed to be in the 70's as opposed to the recent 90's. It definitely felt like Fall is right around the corner this morning. -- We turned east into the sun and joined the commute traffic through Boise this morning. We have not had to deal with commute traffic very much. I usually pick a park that is on the other side of incoming traffic when staying in a bigger city, but I could not pass up this...

Pretty Damn Nice!

Jul 24, 2012 - Long Haul to Village of the Trees - Declo, ID

Everyone is happy NOT to be riding a horse today, and we head North through Utah. The girls sleep through some of the most amazing scenery as we pass The Arches National Park near Moab, and then Canyonlands. The traffic through Salt Lake City was nasty as always, but soon we were rolling through the open country of Northern Utah, feeling like we were almost home. We arrived in Declo, ID, home of the Village of the Trees RV park. This park is on the bank of the Snake river. The sites are wide and the trees are huge. The have a small...

Mar 28, 2012 - Declo, Idaho

Sunny morning, but definitely not wearing capris today. Different scenery today, still desert type foliage, rolling hills and high mountains with snow on the tops in the distance. I think spring has come to Salt Lake City, beautiful blooms on the cherry trees around the state capital. State Capital building started in 1912 and completed in 1916. Orchards and farming around Salt Lake city. Cloudy and showers after Salt Lake City. Camped at Village of Trees RV Resort in Declo, Idaho tonight.

Jul 16, 2011 - Day 4, trip to Seattle, Washington, Village of Trees RV Resort, Declo, ID

We had a slow, lazy start to the day, leaving the Green River campground in Dinosaur National Monument. Heading back to Highway 40 we were able to drive to another campground/boat launch area and saw more amazing bluff, cliffs, rock formations hanging over the Green River! Today's drive along 40 has been varied: low hills, mountain summits, rock formations, crops, irrigation, dust storms, heat. We saw many, many, many acres of wheat, not yet harvested; alfalfa...being mown and baled; some corn; some potatoes; some oats; some soybeans. We...

Jun 24, 2011 - Village of Trees - Declo, ID

After staying overnight at a rest area near Bozeman, we dropped down I-15 and stopped at the Village of Trees RV park in Declo, ID, near Rupert on the Snake River. This is an outstanding RV park! The sites are big, the roads are wide, there is easy walking access to the river, and the Park has a small store, café, and gas/diesel, just off I-84. We stayed for a few nights, and just rested during great weather. Headed back to Oregon for some time at Sunriver and the Good Sam Ralley in Redmond.

May 16, 2010 - Idaho Sightseeing With Friends

The weather did in fact take a turn for the better and we took full advantage of it by getting out with Gary and Vicki and racked up a couple hundred miles on Gary’s Jeep. Thursday we went in search of Shoshone Falls and we saw a sign for Rock Creek Canyon and diverted to that instead. We drove back in a good twenty five miles until we reached snow and from the advise from a park worker we back tract and had a great lunch at Wendy’s Café. Friday, was a rest day and we both had a RV Tech coming by to have a look at both motor homes for jack...
