Aug 16, 2016 - Amelia Island

We went to the Seaside Amelia Inn a hotel that we had stayed at several years ago and tried to get a room. Guess what full up so we tried another one close by and it has no rooms left. I asked if something was going on and they said just the end of summer. So we did the next best thing. We stopped at Cedar River Seafood Resturant and ate. It was great Linda had shrimp and I had oysters. That will be the first of many seafood meals I hope. We did get a room at a Best Western in Yulee Fl. So we are not sleeping in the car. We drove around...

Don't wake me up

Sep 22, 2015 - Yulee, Fl

We stopped yesterday in Pensacola for one more family visit before returning home. Daughter, Jeannie, lives there and we went to see her newly purchased house. She has the knowledge of both accounting and real estate behind her so purchased an older home that she plans to renovate. She is amazing in what she is learning how to do by watching YouTube. Must be those "Pittman" genes at work giving her the confidence and the ability to tackle any project. Her Dad feels she has found a house with "good bones" and should successfully meet this...

We are back in Yulee and knee deep in laundry. Our trip was 6155 miles in 53 days. We paid from $3.23 per gallon of gas to $5.14 per gallon (Newfoundland). We visited 18 states and 4 Canadian provinces. We were blessed with good health and very few RV problems. We met some interesting people along the way and spent time with family and friends that we have made both in RVing and in our life. We marveled at God's creations not only in the unique birds, fish and animals but also in the beautiful scenery that can take your breath away. You...

Wandering America

Jun 8, 2012 - Home

We have completed another great adventure. This one gave us an appreciation for all of the brave men and women who have helped to shape this country and assure that we have the freedoms that we sometimes take for granted. Through the museums, the re-enactments, the monuments, and the preserved landmarks we were able to experience different periods that were important in our history. Each of the places that we visited gave us reason to be proud of this nation. You cannot visit places like Washington D.C. at night with the lit up monuments of...

We are back home. We have traveled 12,000 RV miles. We have visited two countries and 27 different states. We were gone for 92 nights and stayed in 54 campgrounds. We used about 1700 gallons of gas which averaged $5.32 per gallon in Canada and $3.61 in the USA. We met a lot of interesting people and made many new friends along the way. We were lucky enough to get to visit with some "old" friends and visit with some family members. We saw awesome and inspiring scenery and visited many historical sites and landmarks. We used the words "Wow"...
