Mar 21, 2012 - Talkin' baseball....(soft)

We packed up our rig and moved to a campground close to Don and Jeanne's then left to visit our nephew and niece Tim and Lisa near Tampa. This is our second time to their home on the trip and it is always nice to be here. Tim is Shirley's sister Bonnie's son. Their daughter Payton is a big time softball player and I have had great interest in her development over the years. They go all over the country playing and participating in camps and it shows in how good she is. Her 13 and 1, first place high school fast pitch softball team played an...

May 3, 2009 - Headed North

We're packed, gassed and ready to hit the road and this years adventure. Our timing was good, Susan and Lyna are basically finished bringing in the blue berry crop. A bumper crop it was 120,000 lbs. They are very lucky, their berries ripened early and the price held until now. With their new fortune they already are buying new toys, a 4 wheeler to get around the farm. I was pressed into service Saturday to frame up a new storage building to park the new toy in. We are looking forward to a nice cool summer, and making new friends, speaking...

Apr 17, 2009 - What have we been up to/Where to this year?

In a couple of weeks we head north to Maine for the summer, and another adventure. One of the great things about being an RV work camper are the great people one meets along the way. In each year of our travels, we have made friends whom we have kept in contact, but last summers group was unique in that most of them wintered in Florida. We were able to get together several times since we returned home. Carol & George, Carol & Jim, Jim and Grace, Bob and Linda, Murray and Linda, and Paul and Kathy have winter homes here and we look forward...

Oct 25, 2008 - Home Again

October 24, 2008 We’re home! We made it safe and sound with no problems. A little update on our last day of driving. We were up at 6am for our take-off by 7am the 3rd day, Wednesday, and by 2pm, we were pulling into our driveway. We spent the next 3 ½ hours unloading, putting SOME of the stuff back into it’s proper place in the kitchen and making my laundry room a disaster area. It was ugly!! Lyna, bless her, brought dinner over and did it ever taste good! By 8:30pm that night, after a wonderfully long and hot shower, we were both crashed...

Apr 28, 2008 - Weicherdings 2008 Adventure

April 28, 2008 It is that time of the year that the Weicherding’s head to a cooler climate, and a new adventure. This year we will be in the Northeast, Bozrah, Connecticut to be precise, where I doubt that I will have little need for my cowboy boots or Stetson. Our destination will be a private campground, a bit of a change from a National Park. The web site for the campground is; www.odetah.com. We start May 15 and expect to stay through the end of October. For those of you who followed our past adventures, welcome back, for those newbees,...

Oct 14, 2007 - The Official End of the 2007 Adventure

Sunday - October 14, 2007 We almost forgot about finishing up our "blog" from our trip so this will be our final sign-off from this years adventures. We left Perry, Ga on the 26th and arrived home about 2:45pm on Thursday, the 27th. On the way, I called our dentist to schedule John for another temporary filling for his tooth. What a dentist - 45 minutes after we returned home, we were on the road again (minus the trailer) headed to Plant City. 10 minutes in the chair, the sharp edges ground down, John was ready to go home, with an...
