Feb 27, 2018 - The Last Entry

It is with much sadness and broken heart that I need to inform the people who do not know that John passed away on February 3, 2018. He struggled with health issues for the past 13 months, but he is now at peace. He always had a smile on his face, a twinkle in his eye and truly enjoyed all of our escapades; good, funny (later on) and the mis-adventures. Your comments and the show of enjoyment from all of you truly made our trips worthwhile. It was such fun having you follow along with us, made the rehashing much easier. I wish you all a...

May 2, 2016 - What Have We Been Doing

Wednesday, May 4, we start our summer adventure, but I'm taking time out in our packing to give you an update on what has gone on since we last posted. You will remember we cut last summer short because of my dear Uncle Sam and his "You Owe Me Big Time" love letter. We owed him, but nothing like the $36,000, more like $700. We have been celebrating ever since. As most of you know, my daughter Susan is a Blueberry Farmer. She and her partner, Lyna, were interviewed and will appear on Farmher, a TV program that features women in Agriculture....

Apr 15, 2016 - Sun City Center, FL

2016-04-15.Sun City Center Visiting “old”(as in long time) friends is always a highlight of our trips. We detoured south to the Tampa Bay area where we visited Jack and Carol Hugill who live in Sun City Center, an age-restricted community of individual residential communities linked by at least 3 golf courses. We met Jack and Carol 12 years ago when we attended a 3 day training seminar on how to operate our new RVs and we have been friends ever since, traveling to meet them various places and now, since they have not yet begun their RV...

Apr 27, 2015 - Almost May and It's Time to Fly North

We are about at the end of our winter Florida stay and hitch-itch has set in. We will be returning to Franklin, NC again this summer and we are looking forward to being out of the balmy Florida temps. If you remember the end of last years blog, you will recall we were having problems with our trailer on our way home. We had a slide that wouldn't open and if you got it open, it wouldn't close. Camping World "claimed" to fix it, but not so. Just the excuse we needed to buy a new unit at the big RV show in January. We are now proud owners of a...

May 10, 2011 - Getting ready to leave

This is the first entry of our trip. We are leaving Friday, May 13. Our first leg of the trip is to the Dayton, Ohio area to visit Kim, Seth and Ben. Next Monday we will head for upstate New York to Bear's Sleepy Hollow Campground, where our RV is located. We plan to spend most of the summer there, but will be taking a few side trips while there. Sometime in mid-August, the real adventure will begin when we head to the west coast of the US.

Oct 18, 2009 - Sun City Center, FL

Today we visited Jeff's Aunt and Uncle in Sun City Center, FL, just 5 miles from our RV Park. We had a nice visit catching up with family news. Their lovely home sits on a beautiful golf course. We went to lunch at Sonny's, a regional restaurant chain that specializes in ribs. Afterwards they drove us around in their car to show us the wide range of facilities offered by their community. Later they took us for a golf cart tour of the adjacent golf course. We saw alligators, birds and even some turtles. Back at their house, we had some...
