Apr 22, 2016 - Quiet Time on the Estuary

We left Christmas and headed over for our week at the beach near Sebastian Inlet. The sites are all on the Indian River which is really nice, although the space to peak out at the river through the mangroves is rather small. We were a half mile down the road and across A!A from the beach so we couldn’t complain too much. Where we stayed was a county park and the sites were really quite nice and spacious. There really was very little around us as we were halfway between Melbourne Beach and Vero Beach. We checked out both areas to see if...

Arrive at our first destination , Sebastian Inlet State Park. Basically all we did was walk around and rode our bicycles a little. Terry fished from the closest fishing pier without any luck. We're spending most of our time in just tee-shirts. It's in the mid 70's.

Florida, 2013

Jan 4, 2013 - January 2nd

Woke to a beautiful day. Terry went fishing at the pier seeing 4-5 dolphins, and not catching a thing. Later Carolyn and Sally did laundry, an Terry went wade fishing doing quite well catching 6 Jack Caravell, not sure of the spelling. They aren't well thought of but they do put up a good fight. Welcome to Sebastian Inlet...home of Pirates, treasure hunters and, now, US! Our first camping trip to the "treasure coast" and it's been exciting, hot and buggy! We joined up with 6 of our friends already encamped here and the week has rolled by too fast. Already past the half way point, but still plenty of things to do. Set out on day one to explore some of the sights here in Melbourne/Sebastian/Vero Beach. Beautiful ride up A1A with beach on one side and beautiful beach homes on the other. I could definitely enjoy living in this area....

Mar 21, 2012 - Day #31

Day #31, March 19, 2012, Monday: How do you start a great day – with a huge serving of strawberry shortcake at Parksdale Farm Market in Plante City at 11:15 a.m. Travelled on to Sebastion where we camped at a County Park, Long Point Park, couldn't get a spot at Sebastion Inlet S.P. as planned. Went birding later in the afternoon at Pelican Island NWR, the original NWR established in 1903, and at Sebastion Inlet S.P. My conscience was still bothering me re skipping the tolls, and the consequences thereof, so I asked an attendant today -...
