Jan 29, 2013 - Topsail Hill Preserve State Park

After leaving Ft Myers, we travelled to a couple of Florida's state parks. First stop was a short overnight at Manatee Springs SP. Unfortunately, the manatee were not at the springs, but it was a very nice, older park. While no manatee were evident, we did see (and photo) many large flocks of vultures that were staying by the Sawuanee River at the park (both black and turkey vultures). From there we drove further north and then headed west out the FL panhandle and arrived at Topsail SP, a destination selected due to many RVers'...

Jan 29, 2013 - Visiting Seaside

While staying here in the Sandestin area, we took a little side trip east on Rt 30-A to see a few of the beautiful beach towns nearby. One that we particularly wanted to see was called Seaside. This is a planned community, built in the '80s (I think). I do remember seeing a number of articles about the community in "Southern LIving" magazine several years ago. Anyway, it is truly a unique planned community, with design by several architects that is extraordinary. Our friends, Ann and Gordon, both architects themselves, had reminded me about...

Feb 22, 2011 - Topsail Hill Preserve State Park , Sandestin, Fl

Ce matin, depart vers 0845 de Tennille, Fl, direction Panama Beach City, dans le panhandle de la Floride. Nous avons pris la route 98 mais pour le temps que tu passes entoures de grands pins, ca vaut pas la peine. Mieux de prendre l'Interstate et a Talahassee, tu descends a Panama City. Arrives a Panama City Beach, nous avons change d'idee (une grosse ville entourant le Emerald RV Resort) et ont decide de se rendre au Topsail State Park, a Sandestin pour 2 soirs. Nous avons longe la cote pour se rendre a Topsail et ont trouve dommage que...
