Sally again walked 10,000first thing in the morning. I went fishing in the bay, I am trying to learn to fish with a Cajun Thunder but have not had any luck yet. We had to move to another campsite today. It is bothersome but oh well. After moving we sat a while then decided to fish the Gulf one last time. We caught one 8” whiting. After returning to our campsite we packed things for moving to St Joseph Peninsula campground tomorrow. Sally made left over Chili supper.

Feb 28, 2017 - February 26th

Feb 26th I decided to go fishing while Sally walked this morning. I started at 8:30 and didn't get a line in the water until 1:30. I did see a Bald Eagle again though. Anyway, Once we were fishing we caught 6 small whiting. It was a cold day, we both had a long sleve t-shirt and a sweat shirt. The wind was strong and we both got cold. We quit about 4:30 and came back to thje campsite. There we had a nice campfire and sat and talked. The beer was nice too. Then an evening of TV, wine and dark chocolate.

Feb 28, 2017 - February 27th

February 27th Today began with Sally taking her long walk. I went to the bay side fishing The water there is quite shallow and I used my wading boots. I was fishing with a new setup for me. A Cajun clacker and an electric chicken.other words a noisy bobber and a jig. I fished an hour and a half without a strike. Sally and I then rested for a while before going to the gulf to fish. We didn't catch a thing today. The waves were quite rough. Of course the evening consisted of TV, wine and dark chocolate.

Florida 2017

Mar 18, 2016 - March 16th

March 16th Today we once again had to move lots within the campground. So, we took a walk out to the gulf and checked the surf. The flags were yellow so we intend to put smaller sinkers on our poles before coming out to fish. Then we walked back to the campground and saw our net lot would be shortly be empty. We returned to our camp site and prepared to make our move. While putzing around getting ready outside I was asked to take a picture of a group, which I did. We then saw a snake in the midst of eating a lizard. We watched it for a...

March 15th Today we had to move campsites within the campground. It is a bother but we will get to move away from the loud family. We have been next to the loud family for 6 days and that is enough. We took a walk to start the day. When we passed the lot we will move to we saw they hadn't started to get ready to leave yet. So knowing it would be awhile before we could move we decided to get our RV ready to move and dump our holding tanks then park the RV and go into the lighthouse to post the blog and buy some fishbite scent bait that...

March 14th The last few days my arms and legs have been itching me to distraction!! I've been getting bit by tiny little bugs that Sally calls no-see-ums. Woohoo!! Today started with the usual coffee and TV. Then we headed to the oystering area to find some oysters. We were too early as the tide wasn't at low tide yet.So we took a walk hopping it would recede. By the time we got back it had gone down several inches but not enough to gather oysters. We decided to return to the RV and get our fishing poles and computer, then again return to...

March 13th Today started with a walk around the campground. On the way we looked and found a geocache. Sally then did some work inside the RV and I split the last of the wood we picked up in Hernando. Then we went into the lighthouse where I posted to the blog and downloaded emails. We continued over the bridge to Eastport where we tried fishing again. Sally caught 2 small ones and I caught 1 small catfish that slipped in my hand and horned me pretty deep. I bleed for 10 minutes and it stung for an hour. We then returned to the campsite...

March 12th To start our day we walked to find a geocache about ½ a mile away. When we got close the app on the phone gave a beep to let us know. We searched the area but couldn't find it. We struck up a conversation with a lady ranger and she said she rembered people searching around the bottom of some steps a while back but she didn't know want for. So, Sally and I looked there and sure enough there it was. I think maby the lady ranger may now be interested in geocaching. Then we were off to try and find another one closer to our...

March 10th The high today was only 72, but it was still a nice day. We started the day with a 6 mile bike ride. We have to go down the only road in the park and I was not feeling real peppy and the road is not wide and it is windy so we didn't go very far. After returning to the RV we decided to go fishing on the pier by the bridge to the island. We forgot our bait so we needed to go across the bridge to a bait shop. When we were ready we walked out on the pier to fish. People were catching very small 4-5 inch fish but that was all. Our...

March 9th Travel day, we had to go a bit over 200 miles. It took us 5 and a half hours. The trip was made on US highways and Florida highways and no Interstates. We did get to see the local towns along the way and we saw redbud trees in bloom. We are out of Southern Florida now so somewhat of a winter has been here. We are on St. George Island for the next 8 days. This is the place where I have collected oysters in the past and it is also the place where , several years ago, a tornado went acrosst the bridge at the same time we were...
