Mar 6, 2014 - Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Bill and I spent a great afternoon in the heat watching the Washington Nationals host the NY Mets in the spring training Grapefruit league. The game went back in forth, with a couple of three run homers, until the last few innings when the Nationals trounced the Mets 11 to 5.

Feb 9, 2013 - Sun Coast RV Resort

It is a beautiful day to be in Florida. We have been watching the storm in Ontario and the north-east part of U.S., blizzard conditions over much of the area. We arrived here at Rockledge yesterday afternoon. We arranged to meet up with friends Bob and Charlotte, and Larry and Diane , Carriage club members from Ontario. This is a very nice park, although not overly dog friendly, but they have relaxed the dog rules since our last visit. You are now allowed to walk your dog around the park. We met for happy hour and then walked next door to a...

Oct 7, 2012 - Getting Ready to leave

The next 24 hours are jam packed with last minute things we have to do but almost every item of laundry is already washed, dried, folded and put away! Just a couple more things! That is always the hard part for me to get done ahead of time. I have planned most of my clothing and made my packing checklist. Jim got home at 2pm from his flight and he is napping now. (2:48pm). He says he has to mow the lawn. We have our wedding photographer coming by to drop off our picture CD so I can finish our invitations and order them. We have dinner with...

Feb 11, 2012 - Space Coast RV Park - Rockledge, Fl.

We drove about 125 miles north from Juno Beach to Rockledge, a little south of Titusville on the Atlantic coast. Our original thought was to have a relaxing drive on Hwy 1 which travels through all the small towns along the coast. After about an hour, and non-stop traffic lights, and lots of traffic, we jumped on the interstate to finish the trip. Although they were calling for rain at Juno, it's bright and sunny here in Rockledge. We met up at Space Coast RV Park with friends Larry and Diane, and Bob and Charlotte. We've met here for a...

Jul 28, 2011 - Our First R.V.-Wee Willy

We purchased an itty bitty travel trailer today. It is what might be called vintage (1986) and reminds me of the little trailer that Lucy and Ricky traveled on in one of their hilarious escapades, "The Long, Long, Long Trailer"!! It is only 14' long but hey, it is perfect for us and our two little dogs. Sleeps 4, believe it or not. Has all the amenities of a bigger trailer: three burner stove, sink, toilet, (very little) shower, table with two bench seats that convert into a queen bed, a bunk bed over head, lots of storage space and even a...

Mar 6, 2009 - A Visit with Family

On Friday our travel took us to Rockledge, Florida, home of Michael and Pilar Mastroianni (Carol's brother and sister-in-law). Carol's mother has been visiting Michael and Pilar for the winter, and we planned to spend a few days with them all. When we arrived, we were welcomed with "a feast to behold" that Pilar, Carol's mother, and Michael prepared for us. After dinner, we drove to the beach near Patrick Air Force Base to witness a night rocket launch from the Kennedy Space Center. This unmanned rocket will travel through our solar system,...

Nov 16, 2008 - Rockledge, Florida

On November 1st, we moved into our new location at the Space Coast RV Resort, a very nice park in Rockledge, Florida. We are near the historic village of Cocoa and 14 miles from Cocoa Beach. Until today, the weather has been very nice with temperatures in the high 70's and 80's. Today it dropped down into the 60's but the sun is shining ! After being here for a week, we drove to pick up my mom in Fort McCoy, north of Ocala, and then drove to visit my daughter, Bethany in Orlando. After Ray fixed us a wonderful salmon dinner, my mom and I...

Mar 30, 2008 - A Side Trip to Rockledge To Find Elise and Guy.

We just started to unwind after the marathon walking spree for both of us at the Daytona Speedway when the next day (Saturday), we decided to give Elise a call on her cell phone to see if they were home today. She answered and said "Come on down!", so that is what we did. I just love this impromptu life! So off we go in our trusty Green Giant and travel to Rockledge. just a bit south of Titusville. You all know where that is. That's the place where Kennedy Space Center is located that sends all those rockets into space. We quickly found...
