May 7, 2019 - 1 Week To Departure

Having survived the Cinco de Mayo Party here in MOSN, we have turned our attention to final planning for our Summer 2019 excursion out west. Our daughters visited this past weekend, and except for the Granddaughter flying out to spend a few weeks with us in June/July, we wont see the rest of the gang in person until sometime in September. With all the available technology, we should have no problem staying in touch with everyone while we're on the road. This week we will focus on loading the coach and beginning to prep the house for our...

Summer 2019

Feb 22, 2019 - Planning

We are in the planning phase for this summer's trip out west. We started by making reservations at Sturgis RV Park for the 79th Annual Sturgis Rally over a year ago. We have added a Country Music Festival in Grand Junction, Colorado, the Tiffin Allegro Rally in Rock Springs, Wyoming, the 100th FMCA Convention in Minot, North Dakota and about 3 weeks with our grand daughter in and around Yellowstone.

Summer 2019

May 2, 2018 - Loaded and Ready

I always think it's going to be easier to get ready for trips now that the RV is right here, but it's actually not. All day (less the time I spent chasing Doug's prescription, which is a tale of its own) and still don't finish until almost 10 PM. And I never emptied the coach completely from the last trip we took. Soon, we will figure this out and become masters. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Off to bed now since I want to go to breakfast before we pull out tomorrow morning. Good night.

Apr 9, 2014 - Winding down

Our time here is winding down. We decided not to wait until the Casita is complete to come home. Most everything is picked out and we have met with all the sub-contractors. It's getting quite hot and we are just ready to get back home. We miss our family and friends and after 4 months the motor home is getting a little "close"! We are planning to leave here on the 16th and be home for Easter if all goes as planned. We had a lovely afternoon visit from Linda and Jerry Spoolstra - fellow RV'rs we met in Arizona about 5 years ago. We have...

Mar 31, 2014 - Car and Craft Show

A week ago Saturday we had a craft and car show here. We have some amazing crafters in here. The variety of items was amazing. We have two women in here that make pocketbooks. One woman had a huge assortment of bags in all shapes and colors. I managed to resist with great difficulty. Another woman makes her bags out of men's ties and lines them with materials from men's dress shirts. There were two women who had table with cards made with techniques they learned in Stamping Up classes. There were lamp shade, dolls, wood products, jewelry...

Mar 19, 2014 - We have walls and a roof!

We've had a busy couple of weeks. We drove down to Clermont one day to visit the Citrus Tower. We had seen it the day we went to Mt. Dora. Unfortunately, the elevators were under repair and we couldn't go up.... oh well, another day for that. It was going to be closed about a week. We decided to go next door to a Presidential museum. It was really very interesting. They had life size wax figures of all Presidents right through President Obama. There was also a replica of the White House showing all the rooms and how they are laid out. It...

Mar 2, 2014 - Mt. Dora excursion

I haven't written much lately because we haven't been going out that much. We had visitors here, Nancy & Peter Rinaudo from Connecticut stopped in one afternoon while they were down from CT. We had a nice visit with them. Then another day close friends Norma & Jud stopped in for the afternoon. It was so good to see them in their rented Mustang convertible. Jud was loving it! We "moved" onto our new pad (rented) on Feb. 1 because they were going to start the work on our casita. We are right around the corner from our lot. The ground has been...

Jan 31, 2014 - Polk City, FL

In mid-January, we headed over to central Florida to visit our good freends, John & Bev. You may remember them from our time in West Virginia. They live in an RV community and we were able to park in their driveway...pretty cool! We spent a wonderful week visiting and enjoying our friends. They took us all over Lakeland and surrounding areas. We also attended the annual Pig Fest at Joker Marchant Stadium, home of the Detroit Tigers AAA Ball Club. There were people everywhere, all cooking incredible barbecue, both beef and pork, corn on the...

2013 and Beyond

Jan 17, 2014 - Blog for week of Jan. 12.

The weather here has been see-sawing back and forth from cold (for here) and back to normal temps again. Yesterday it didn't get out of the 50's - I actually was wearing a long sleeve shirt and a sweater - then today it was in the upper 60's with very little wind and it was beautiful. We've had a lot of rain and wind also.....but we don't have to shovel it! We've had a busy week. Last Saturday Joe & Barb Lawlor came to visit. They are staying a few miles down the road. We took them around the development I the golf cart and stopped to see...

Jan 6, 2014 - Bok Tower Gardens

The weather down here has been crazy the last week. Friday morning we got up and it was about 60 degrees out. They were predicting showers and the wind was picking up so our water aerobics was cancelled. It was a good thing because mid-morning it started to pour and the wind really picked up. Turned out to be a really cold and nasty day. We stayed in until dinnertime and then we went out to eat at Sonny's Bar-B-Que with Ralph & Sharon and Bill & Deb to celebrate Ralph's birthday. That is definitely a restaurant we will be visiting again....

Jan 2, 2014 - Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone. We hope it will be a very healthy and blessed year for all of you. We've had quite a bit of rain the last several days and up until today has been cooler. Water aerobics has been sporadic due to the weather although a few of us have been trying to brave it some days. Yesterday the temp was about 59 and it was raining so Deb and I decided weren't going to try it. It's fine in the water but pretty cool when you come out. It's supposed to be in the 40's tomorrow a.m. so don't think we will have it then either,...

Dec 28, 2013 - Christmas

Oh wow - what a few weeks this has been! To say we're loving life and feel amazingly blessed is a gross understatement. We have to keep pinching ourselves to believe it's real! We went to three houses on the progressive appetizers portion of our Christmas Party. It's a lot of fun to get into the different homes to see what people do. We get lots of ideas that way - whether that's good or bad is yet to be determined. After we came back to the coach for "dinner" we went to the clubhouse for desserts and a carol sing. It was a lot of fun and...
