Jun 6, 2018 - Day 8 - Perdido Key, FL

Much nicer day today. Long early dog walk, then off to the links for a (hopefully) quick round. Stop at my old stomping grounds - Perdido Bay Country Club. I lived right off one of the holes on the back 9 when I was a flight instructor down here. Always liked the course, but they tell me they're booked until noon. Good to know they're doing well; now I have to find a different course. Jun 5, 2018 - Day 7 - Perdido Key FL

Started raining as soon as I finished walking the dog this morning, and then rained steadily until about 3pm. I saw on the news that Mobile got an inch and 2/3 of rain. Not quite that much here, but pretty close. WiFi at the RV park went out as well, so no internet. Over morning coffee, Wendy mentions that she thinks we should sell this RV as soon as we get home. Thought he might try to go after them, but he just stared at them and moved on. Spent about an hour trying to find the right RV park in Pensacola for the next couple of days. The park we've stayed at in the past is very tight and difficult to get in and out of, so we thought we'd look for something else. Finally settled on "Playa del Rio" - maybe I liked it because of...

Summer 2018 Big Trip

Jan 9, 2010 - Arriving in Perdido Key, FL

We left Clinton still in freezing weather, so still had no water at the park. Our plan was to stop at a truck stop and refill our propane tanks since we had to run all night to stay warm, and also to fill up our holding tanks since the FL park called us and said their water lines were also frozen due to the unusually cold weather! That was an excellent plan, and we found the propane near Hattiesburg at and RV repair shop, but finding the water proved a little more of an adventure – everywhere we stopped the water lines were frozen! We...
