Mar 11, 2019 - Day 3

Monday, an open day for us. We started the day with breakfast at the Hampton Inn once again. Pretty much the same as yesterday, serviceable. Breakfast done, we spent some time in our room, reading and relaxing. At about noon, we decided to head out to Palm Beach. I had been there for work a number of years ago, so at least today, this could be Jeff's work tour part 2. We arrived in the city at about 1:00. We were delayed when the main route bridge had to be opened for boat traffic. A tug boat needed to get through. Once across the bridge,...

Spring Training 2019

Feb 26, 2013 - During the long Intermission

Well, this intermission has gone on longer than we hoped--but MAYBE we are near the end of it. The replacement of the risers in the exhaust system went well (whatever they are!). However, when the diver cleaned the bottom of the boat on Feb 13, he found that the port side propellor was very stiff and did not want to turn. What was that about! So we had yet another issue which needed to be addressed--and could not be until the boat was hauled and on land. Which could not be scheduled for a couple of weeks. So yesterday the boat was hauled...

Jan 13, 2013 - Intermission

Carrie and Baxter are pictured here, relaxing--which is their most usual state, because our friend Betty requested a photo of them. Now about INTERMISSION. When we were readying ZEST for this trip back in Maine, the boatyard found and fixed a problem with the exhaust system--but then told us that the fix COULD last ten years or six months-- and suggested we have a permanent repair done when we were in Florida where there were shops that regularly do this sort of repair on power boats. So, when we came through Palm Beach in early December...

Jan 4, 2011 - Errante J David Jr

David J Errante
David J Errante Jr. If all shareholders are in agreement then selling up to another firm is a common choice, but how will working under a new regime impact upon those that stay on? Can those members of the board that stay adapt to less business-critical roles so easily? Without the full backing of all the shareholders a successful deal cannot be agreed so negotiations need to reflect the needs of those who will remain as much as those who are looking to leave.

Feb 18, 2010 - bird watching and many more activities in palm beach

Palm Beach Florida is a small town located across the Intracoastal Waterway in Florida. Historically, the town has served as a vacation home to many celebrities and aristocrats, including the Pulitzers, the Rockefellers, and the Kennedys. Palm Beach vacations can be spent shopping in the town's chic boutiques, relaxing at an upscale Florida hotel, or visiting a world class art museum. Juno Beach is also one of the top destinations for Palm Beach vacations. Although Palm Beach vacations aren't traditionally known for bird watching, the area...

Apr 18, 2009 - Bethesda-by-the-Sea

A letterbox is hidden in a garden of the Episcopal Church called Bethesda-by-the-Sea in nearby Palm Beach, so I went to have a look. I didn't spend much time inside the church, but did take notice of the stained glass windows and the pipe organ. Outside, there were a couple of spaces that were neat. A courtyard has nicely spaced bougainvillea bushes surrounding it. The Cluett Memorial Garden has a long rectangular pond in the center and people can buy fish food all day long to feed the large goldfish found in it. I found the letterbox and...

Feb 22, 2009 - Palm Beach Gardens

This was the weekend that Jeanne and I drove up to visit Gette and Rosemary with the 3 kids - Murphy, Sugar, and Evan. Laurie joined us Saturday evening after she got off of work. I attended my first ever letterboxing event at Okeeheelee Park! It was also the first South Florida Letterboxer gathering. I am glad there were only a few people because with trading stamp images with everyone, some of whom had multiple stamps, finding event and tabletop stamps, and getting a passing around "cootie" stamps, I was busy for over 2 hours! Gette and...

Nov 8, 2007 - The beaches of Palm Beach

Yesterday was a lazy day basically spent either relaxing at the condo or looking for a Walmart. It was the first day in a whole week, where we didn't have to get up and drive a long distance. We're settled nicely into the condo which is on the PGA golf course here in Palm Beach Gardens. We wake up every morning and look out the windows and see the golfers. One of the T-boxes is directly off the livingroom windows about 50ft. away. Very beautiful and picturesque area. Today we drove to Singer Island and toured the State Park there. It's on...
