Tue, 17 Dec: Heading out at last! We awoke when we awoke and took our time getting ready for the road. Sandi went to the office to settle our bill while Bob dumped our holding tanks. To his not-too-pleasant surprise he discovered a leak in our sewer hose (affectionately known as the "stinky slinky"). A bit of duct tape did the trick and a replacement hose went on our shopping list. Despite our lazy attitude we pulled out of the SKP Florida Resort at half past nine and headed west a few miles to US 17, which we took north to Florida 60. Both...

2013 Travels

Jan 5, 2011 - Trinity/New Port Richey

January 3rd we left Naples and headed north. In Sarasota we made a quick visit stop at Frank and Karlyn Dawes winter home to say hello. Theb we found the Sarasota Car Museum for Bob and the Ringling Museum for Fran. Unfortunately the Car Museum proved a disappointment as there were few cars not well presented. The Ringling Museum of Art is a whole complex so Fran dashed about the estate from museum (with lots of second level Western European art)to Ca d'Zan, the fantastic Venetian Gothic home, to the Circus Museum with wagons and train car...

Dec 12, 2009 - Return to New Port Richey, FL

We lived in New Port Richey for a year and a half. It is a beautful Southern city, built along the Pithlachascotee River. Our return was an occasion for doctor visits and reunions with some fantasic people. Our favorite riverfront restaurant had just closed, but another had reopened. So it happened that we changed locations from Fatty and Mabel's to Catches Tiki Bar. There's just something about a tiki bar along a river that just brings us back to all the days at the Harbor Crab on the Patchogue River back when we both had to go to work...
