With the weather in Heathsville, Va still cold, we began our journey on Thursday morning the 7the of January. We traveled down the Interstate with rest stops and pet rest stops until we reached Lumberton, NC where we spent the night. It was pretty cold but we stayed warm with the heater and generator running. The next morning we continued south.Again we made our necessary stops along the way. We reached Savannah, Georgia that night. Figuring that we were headed south you would think that the temperatures would be going up, but as our luck...

Apr 13, 2008 - Mike Roess Gold Head Branch State Park, Keystone Heights, FL

The lakes around Keystone Heights have almost all dried up due to extreme drought & development over the last 30 - 40 years. When we were kids in the 1960's, these lakes were full. In some of the photos, you will notice a white band near the tree line. That was the shoreline at one time. In Florida there is the moss-man or skunk-man legend, which is Florida's version of big-foot.
