Sue and I headed west to Hurlburt Field, the home to US Air Force Special Operations Command, the 1st Special Operations Wing, the USAF Special Operations School, among others. The Air Force Special Operations Command flies missions from Hurlburt Field in support of specops units worldwide. The base was named for First Lieutenant Donald Wilson Hurlburt, who died in a crash at nearby Eglin AFB in 1943. Feb 5, 2013 - Hurlfurt Field, Fla ... Home of Air Commandos ... US Air Force Special Ops

We spent a couple of nights here at Hurlburt Field, the home of Air Force Special Operations ... Air Commandos. Great historical park with aircraft detailing a history of special ops activities of the Air Force from WW-II, thru Korea and Viet Nam, and including Hostage Release activities and Gulf Wars ... and in memory of hundreds of Airmen who have given their lives over the years in special operations. It is an interesting base with a clandestine operative.

Mar 5, 2008 - Mary Esther

We had a delightful time with Kat’s cousin Shirley in Mary Esther FL. Kat was born in Washington but most of her family is/was from Tennessee. You have heard mention of Uncle Charlie, Cousin Eddie and Cousin Shirley. Shirley is the family genealogist and historian and Kat, until recently, didn’t know much about the family. So they (actually we all) did a lot of talking about family and families. So much so that we didn’t have much time for cooking, so it was lots of talking and going to eat. But we were all real good at it! No complaining!...
