We wanted to go to a MUNZEE EVENT in the area of Lithia, Florida over the weekend and we were camping at Lithia Springs County Park. During that weekend there was a low front that was hanging out in the area with a lot of rain. The springs was closed for swimming and during the weekend the springs over flowed into the parking lots and the river is right down the middle of the camping area. We wanted to go to a Munzee Event at Altermen Ford Park near Lithia,Florida, so we were camping at Lithia Springs Park that has a ice cold springs for swimming and the river running down the middle of the park. We arrived in the rain and got set up in the rain, then we got to take a few pictures between the rain coming down the rest of the day and night. We are going to a bluegrass festival in Yeehaw junction , Florida , but today we are going to camp a few days at Alafia River State Park. Walk some of the trails and do some geocaching in the park and down the road outside the park. Nov 1, 2014 - Lithia Springs Park

Lithia Springs is a Hillsborough County Park, and its attraction is two earth fed springs that flow approximately 24 million gallons of pure water that creates its own small river. The water is a constant 72 degrees, and the park allows swimming at the mouth of one of the springs. The second spring has been left in its natural state. We were geocaching over north of Tampa Bay the day before and now we wanted to trail walk some in the area and found county park just down the road from the campground, we had walked the trails on the south side of the park and this year they have opened the north side of the park with a lot of new containers in the woods for us to locate.

Jan 9, 2014 - Lithia Springs County Park

Last summer we did not go on vacation up north like we have done in the years in the past, we stayed around Florida all summer. We wanted to take off during the spring and fall months here in Florida, to do some camping and of course go to some of the major Geocaching events in florida. We took off for about four weeks in Oct and Nov to go up to Ocala National Forest for Florida Finder Fest Geocaching event and camping in the area. A few years ago we went to a state park near Lithia , Florida for the weekend for a few days of camping , when we arrived the camp site was filled up and they sent us down to a county park called Lithia Springs . From that day on we never went back to the state park, we love this small county park because of the ice cold water springs and a wonderful campground. Jan 20, 2012 - Camping At Lithia Springs County Park

We took off to a very nice small county park near Lithia , Florida , we were going to stay at ALAFIA State Park last year but they were filled up and we were sent to this small county park down the street. It turned out that they have a very nice campground and during the hot summer month in Florida you can go to the ice cold water of the springs for a cool down during the day. We stayed here for a few days of walking the trails and Geocaching over around Mulberry,Florida. We get to go to out of the way places that we may never get to see...

Mar 11, 2011 - Camping At Lithia Springs Park

We left Palmdale after the bluegrass festival and was going to camp at a state park near Mulbarry, Florida for a few days. But when we got to the state park , we found that they were all filled up and they said that there was a nice place just down the road. SURE A NICE PLACE in deed !!!! They called down at the county park and they said that they had plenty of camp sites. So we turned around and headed on down the road to what ever maybe there. Dec 9, 2009 - Alafia River State Park

Time for us to head on up the road to a bluegrass festival at Waldo,Florida, but before we arrive at the bluegrass, we are going to stop at a nice small state park. this state parks was once the site of a phosphate mine.the reclaimed land has unique topography that offers equestrians, hikers,bird-watchers and off-road bicycling to explore 20 miles of trails that travel through mixed hardwood forest , pine flat woods and rolling hills.The weather was in the low 70's, the sun was out and it was a great day for the woods.

Gary's Camping Trips

Aug 25, 2009 - 24 hour count down!

24 hours to go - all packed and ready. Bikes are loaded up and ready to roll out of the garage tomorrow morning. The truck is loaded with our camping gear and with Gale driving, should meet us September 16 in Bainbridge. All three of us feel very blessed that we are able to make this trip - we appreciate our family, our friends, our health and the ability to enjoy life and see the country.
