Good Morning All: As I write this final post of the "Summer of 2013", Toni and I are almost home. We will depart Brunswick, GA and continue the balance of our 4,000 mile journey with approximately 182 miles to go. Aug 31, 2009 - Home At Last!

We arrived home about 11 a.m., but it took us a couple of hours to unload everything. House is fine (we were so glad we left it clean!) but the deck is pretty dirty, the landscaping there is a mess,and a dirty laundry mountain awaits. This has truly been a memorable trip. Jul 10, 2009 - Trip Begins - OVERVIEW!

Overview of our trip this summer...2009. Hello all, it is that time of year again and time to hit the road. This year we hope to revisit some of the areas we visited in 2006. Places like Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Deadwood and Sturgis, South Dakota. Then on to Cheyenne, WY for the "Daddy of 'em All Cheyenne's World Famous Rodeo" and eventually on down through Denver and Colorado Springs, CO and ending in the Santa Fe/Albuquerque, New Mexico area before traveling on for the balance of our summer travels. Apr 24, 2009 - Getting Started

Finally we are off! We whittled our packing lists, stocked up on important supplies like wine and premium dog food, and are ready to go. On Tuesday, Charlie had a head-on collision with another bicyclist, and despite totaling his road bike, came out with only bruises and abrasions; he was very lucky. And, his mountain bike, the one being loaded on the back of the RV, is tuned up and ready to go. Aug 16, 2008 - It's a Wrap!

It's the end of trail, we're home, the RV is tucked in storage and we've all crashed around the house. Here are the numbers: --2966 miles (Charlie vetoed driving around until we hit 3000.) --$1785 for gas --$1128 for campsites --28 days --9 states We didn't bother tracking meal costs, but we know we ate less food, more simply, and never in an expensive restaurant (mostly, there weren't any!). Aug 1, 2008 - Heading for Home

Our mileage today was 333. Total Trip Miles for this entire trip is/was: 4,655. (Arriving back home in Lake Mary) We left this morning at 8:45 AM for our drive to Jacksonville where we had a nice lunch with our friends Beth and Herb. We also took a tour of their beautiful new house that they are building on the Palencia Golf Course. Then it was a 2-hour drive to our home in Lake Mary.

Jul 24, 2008 - I'm Leaving On a Jet Plane

I have FINALLY finished packing and I have watched the last episode of So You Think You Can Dance, Dance, Dance...so now the only thing left to do is get some sleep before my looooong journey to the other side of the world. I am so anxious I don't know if I will actually be able to sleep but I am logging off. Goodnight!

Aug 25, 2007 - Destination - Lake Mary, FL

Miles driven today = 771 Total Trip Miles to Date = 13,935.1 We left this morning at 8:00 AM. GPS estimates 12 - 13 hours and 735 miles to go. We ACTUALLY arrived "safely" in Lake Mary, FL at 12:24 AM on Sunday (08/26/07) Somebody asked us "Did your camera break? I said NO, we were just too tired to take anymore pictures today, ha!"
