May 10, 2016 - Strawberry Festival

Back in March we attended our second Strawberry Festival in Floral City. We were a little disappointed, there were more craft vendors last year, or at least more that had the type of merchandise we like to look at. The festival was still quite large for such a little town, and there were lots of food vendors like last year. We had some strawberry shortcake & it was awful! It must have been sitting in the sun too long, or else last year we just were lucky & got a fresh batch. But the strawberries we bought to take home were very good and...

Mar 11, 2015 - The Floral City Strawberry Festival

We journeyed to the Floral City Strawberry Festival on Sunday to enjoy a warm afternoon and all of the strawberries we could eat :-). The Festival takes place for 2 days, every year. The theme is strawberries, but this is like many other festivals you may have attended. The vendors, however, had some very unique booths and the "floorplan" was such that even though there were lots of people, foot traffic flowed well and we were able to visit all the vendor tents without a lot of backtracking or bumping into large groups of people standing in...

Travels In Serenity

Sep 24, 2014 - Floral City / Battle of Wahoo

We had to drive through Floral City in order to get to our church in Inverness. On our way back from church we stopped for a few pictures in Floral City because the main street had a bit of color and charm to it. We were on our way back to camp, so we only stopped for a few minutes. We shall return when time permits. Mike and Nancy

Travels In Serenity

May 20, 2009 - Sleepy Hollow

Bill and Gary took a ride on Sunday, May 10. We decided to make a day of it and make several stops along the way. We left home and headed for Spring Hill to have breakfast at Perkins. We did a little shopping while in Spring Hill and headed out for the trip to Brooksville. We drove up Highway 50 to Brooksville. This is a nice country ride in rural Hernando County. After passing through Brooksville, we took Highway 41/45 toward Inverness. This road was real rural...lots of farms and forests. We made a pit stop in Floral City before heading...
