Oct 27, 2016 - Martha Potenza Celebrates 100 Years

I'm in Clearwater to celebrate my mother's 100th birthay. Martha Kane was born in 1916 in Washington IN and moved to Chicago to attend high school. My parents married in 1945. She lived the rest of her life in Chicago and the suburbs until she and my father moved to Florida in 1972. The Palms of Largo, where my mother lives, had a celebration for her and all the residents. Family friends Paula and Lou Osadjan from Longboat Key surprised her with a visit. What a milestone.

Apr 16, 2016 - Visiting My Mother

Debbie and I drove 55 miles north to Clearwater today to visit my mother. Debbie brought along a violin that she turned into a work of art with mosaic. My mother taught Debbie this technique, using broken china and discarded costume jewelry, years ago. We spent the afternoon with my mother before going back to Sarasota. The next time I'll see her will be to celebrate her 100th birthday in October.

Saturday morning, and really getting things done today! Up early and have had a pedicure and gel manicure (did them myself...saved, what?, $60??) changed sheets, ironed and tried to make almost final decisions on what to pack. Just up-dated my "trip journal" so I have access for at least another year. Now....what's left? I have marked medicines for Fuzz, so RJ and Mick can find if needed. Mar 29, 2015 - A Few Cache Container We Found

This is a few of the containers that we found on our geocaching hunt in Clearwater , Dade City , Florioda. We got to enter the campus of St.Leo Roman Catholic college ground to look for a few cache in and around the campus. A very nice walk down the trail to the "Grotto" cache lead us to a wonderful pretty, quite place to have a seat and think about where and why things happen in this crazy world. We got to light a candle and got to see a few things that we have not seen before in the world of a Roman Catholic. One cache you had to use the...

We our going to a bluegrass festival near Dade City , Florida . We go up twice a year to the Sertoma Youth Ranch just off of I-75 for the bluegrass. I see a few days before the bluegrass festival that there is a Geocaching event over at Clearwater , Florida and that could be on the way to the bluegrass. I check with a RV resort in Clearwater that we stay at when we go up to see "CHICAGO" every year at a music concert in the park. Sep 21, 2014 - Met Paul For Dinner

Said goodbye to Carol at 2pm . I think the visit did her good - she looked and sounded better by this morning. Time will tell if I made any impact but at least I tried. I promised to meet Paul, Colin's dear friend who lives in Clearwater, for dinner. I decided to see the Gamble Mansion in Ellenton since it was time to fill the gas tank at that exit. Interesting Antebellum style construction - 2 foot thick walls and 18 columns supporting the roof and upper verandas. After the Second Seminole War ( 1836-1842) Congress passed the Armed...

Nov 14, 2013 - Kissimmee => Clearwater

Apr 11, 2013 - Geocaching In Clearwater

Last day to spend in Clearwater , Florida before going home to Cape Coral , Florida for a few days. We went out to the old part of the town of Clearwater. Our first stop was at the old post office on main street, the container was in the bushes next to a wall and some steps to the post office. You had to look for the container but not let any one see you !!! We got to see some wonderful city parks and even a bridge over the road had a container hidden on top of the bridge walkway. At one park we had to count the number of blocks in the...
