Nov 13, 2015 - Florida Springs RV

We stopped at a wonderful RV park in Bonifay Florida, we had a great Grouper lunch at a local restaurant, very fresh, tender and very delicious. There was a trailer that came in that night that would be considered an antique and it has been very uniquely refurbished. The sunset was beautiful

Nov 13, 2015 - Mustang Grill at Florida Springs RV park

Located in the Florida Springs RV park was a restaurant called the Mustang Grill, when we check in they told us it was the best food in panhandle of Florida. Well we were very skeptical; however, we were more than pleasantly surprise. The Rib-eye steak was one of the best we have ever had, the vegetable, bread, etc was superb. There was reporter there who was working on a local book called "just off I-10", she interviewed us and took our picture. We met the owners and they were very friendly and appreciative of us giving the restaurant a...

Working on our 4th MMAP Project. It's located in Bonifay, FL at the Bethlehem Family Camp. The guys were rebuilding the inside of the pastor's quarters. Its a small house with 4 bedrooms and a bathroom for visiting preacher's to stay. Think Tom got sick from all the dust from the sanding going on in that house so when he got better and could return to work he was assigned to build a platform to house two central air conditioners outside a different building. Each MMAP project's last 3 weeks and the men work Monday - Thursday from 8am -...

Feb 13, 2014 - Doctors Memorial Hospital

February was not such a good health month for us. We were into our MMAP(Mobile Missionary Assistance Program) project and both of us ended up sick and either in the hospital or the clinics. Today Debbie laid down to take a nap and her heart started beating really fast and she felt pressure in her ears. Thinking could this be a heart attack called Tom at his job and he took her to the local hospital. A few hours later come to find out the heart was racing due to a over the counter cough syrup she had been taking. Things like that will affect...

Jun 10, 2012 - And we're off

With deep breaths that we didn't forget anything, we left home at 9:15 this morning, after Evelyn and Cody came over to say goodbye. Excited to finally be on our way, the dinging of our emergency brake took us to our first stop, Firestone. A nice young man determined the brake sticks and needs manual help to release. With dinging stopped, we decided to avoid the interstate--programmed GG (GPS girl) to take us north via backroads. In true RV fashion, an hour later we were traipsing around the south end of DeLand after missing an exit! But at...

Feb 8, 2012 - Beautiful Downtown Bonifay

Bonifay, FL. 48 deg. clear, no wind. Forecast = Mostly cloudy in the morning then becoming partly cloudy. Highs around 69. North winds 10 to 15 mph. Jim and Linda didn't do a whole lot yesterday. Linda did some paperwork and made some phone calls, (which took a good part of the afternoon), but Jim didn't do much but play with the computer and sit outside. Randy and Terry were busy so I didn't see much of them during the day, but about 5:30 Jim and Linda walked over to their site and they all got into Randy and Terry's truck and headed to...

Sep 2, 2011 - Bonifay, Florida - escaping tropical storm “Lee”

After getting the tropical Storm warning shortly after setting up we decided to leave Foley AL after one night and drove 150 miles north and east to Bonifay Florida at Florida Springs RV Resort and Campground - not a pretty place but will do for a few days. By doing this we avoided the brunt of the storm and got out of the flood area - turns out they were expecting 10" - 20" of rain over 3-4 days. Its Sunday here in Bonifay and the thunder and rain started this morning its coming down quite hard but little wind, looks like we will have 2...

Dec 2, 2010 - Bonifay

Last evening (Tues.) while Charlie paced inside the coach, I took my time connecting the TOAD, rearranging loads and stowing gear for the next day’s departure. Having planned the route using “Google”, I knew we’d be traveling nearly 300 miles and would probably experience high winds along the way according to weather reports obtained via the internet. The trip was uneventful. There were high winds that tried to blow us off the highway not to mention the high winds that kept trying to blow us off the highway and I should mention the high...
