May 14, 2012 - Universal studios

Today we were so excited because we were going to Universal Studios Hollywood. I couldn't wait to get on some roller coasters and enjoy the theme park. Little did I know, there was no roller coasters only motion rides. Even though we were disappointed we still had fun at the park. After leaving we walked over to city walk and did indoor skydiving. That was a blast. For dinner, we had the delicious Samba Brazilian Restaurant. That was super yummy. Last on the list was bed. We finally went to sleep early and it was needed due to our long days in...

May 23, 2009 - Birthday Boy goes Universal

It's the big Cheese's Birthday today! He was a little disappointed to be missing the Southend Airshow, so to make up for it we decided to go to Universal Studios! We set out early from the hotel to try to the miss the traffic on the first day of Memorial Weekend, the traffic wasn't too heavy just mad as usual. So much lane hopping goes on it's unbelievable, they overtake on the inside and outside so you really have to have your wits about you, especially when you don't know where you're going! Anyway, we made it there in one piece and with...

Jul 13, 2008 - Universal Studios, California

Universal Studios, California I woke up this morning and to my relief my head was feeling pretty clear. The sky had a sprinkle of cloud too so I was optimistic that it would keep the temperatures down a bit. Today we had decided to take a break from Disneyland and visit Universal Studios instead. We have an “Early Bird’ Disney pass which gets us in to the park at 7.00am, however, it is only valid on Tuesdays so we will wait to have our last day at Disneyland until then. It was about a 40-minute drive to Universal Studios and when we arrived...

May 15, 2008 - LA Baby

We made it to LA. Our direct flight was lovely and uneventful. They do charge for an extra bag, even if you bought your ticket before the change, but Kelly was willing to take one of mine as carry on, so no charge on the way there, but it will be $25 on the way back. It was smoggy when we got here but cleared up as the day went on. Pricelined a car at Hertz for $ 132 for 6 days, full size. Check in was quick, but they couldn’t seem to find a full size for us. Literally, they assigned us a car and then couldn’t find it. So they reassigned us...

Mar 11, 2008 - Universal Studios, Universal City California

Well, today we made the 47 mile trip to Universal Studios. While it was only 47 miles it took near 1 hour and 45 minutes due to traffic. Traffic is terrible on Hwy 101 through the Los Angeles area. I would tell everyone to stay away from it!! Rush hour is ALL DAY LONG! Rocky enjoyed the Characters walking around. There was an awesome backdrop of the Holywood Sign. There was a tour of different building sets, real interesting. They would show you movie or tv clips of the area we were at so we could visualize it better. There was a...

Sep 6, 2007 - Universal Studios

Finally we got taken to Universal and I was not sorry to hear that we would not have him for a driver when we were to be taken back to our hotels. We had about 4 odd hours to spend there so nowhere near enough. I had the chance to go on the Mummy ride which was swift, fast and over before you knew it. Not really scary and in the dark a lot. I got a heck of a laugh at it though. I also went on the Shrek 4-D ride. Well it's not really a ride. It was like the one in Singapore which sprays water at you and moves the chairs. Not bad but not...
