May 18, 2012 - Shasta State Historic Park

Pete, my good & close friend Toni & I, took a ride up to the town of Old Shasta (located on Hwy 299). It was founded 1849 as Reading Springs & was named Shasta on June 8, 1850. There are several ruins still standing, a couple of businesses are in operation but due to budget cuts the general store will be closing on July 1st. There were a few individuals dressed in the periods clothing, which was nice to see. As we were in town, there were several students there on their field trip, we just moved out of their way & watched them pass....

Feb 22, 2008 - The day we pick up our RV

We are so excited! Today is the day we pick up our RV. We bought a 2001 Monaco, Diplomat 40 ft diesel pusher from Eugene, Oregon. We bought it at auction and got a great deal. It really does pay to be a RV dealer and buy a rig at auction. So we are now on our way to pick it up. Me and the boys haven't seen it yet and can't wait to do so. We stopped for the night in Shasta City, CA. It is snowing here and is absolutely beautiful. I found this really cool place to stay, our room has 2 rooms, 3 beds and a kitchen. It's called the Woodsman's...

Jun 12, 2007 - Lassen National Park

We have been on the road for two weeks, roughing it you know, and decided we needed to "regroup" so we are staying at the Mountain Gate RV Park north of Redding, CA for a week. Beautiful park; last night they provided a lasagna dinner and social get together. The pool is great, although it is not heated other than by natural means....you would think with the temps hovering around 100 it would be warmer! We went to Lassen National Park yesterday and were we glad we did---it is really underrated. Check out the pictures...the scenery here is...
