Mar 11, 2014 - Santee

Our enjoyable "Baja Fantasy Tour" is over and we are home in cool, wet Boise. Our days in the Baja were warm, sunny, and dry except for one day late in the tour. The last 2 or 3 days were low-keyed, just solidifying friendships and exchanging address and e-mail address. We did take a tour of Ensenada which was interesting. We traveled a few miles south to La Bufadora. This is a blowhole on the south side of the peninsula. It creates a spectacular display as incoming swells push seawater into an underground canyon and out through a hole in...

Feb 15, 2014 - San Diego

We are back agaoi in San Diego! What a blessing to see how the church here has grown. They have just started two services this month and they both seem well attended! We continue to pray for these folks and that the Lord will bless and prosper this church. I enjoyed a special time with my dear friend Laurie Mee; we led a Bible study together almost 15 years ago and have wonderful memories of that time. We spent a couple hours catching up on kids and grandkids! We also had lunch with our good friend Gary and Cheryl Williams. We went to...

The Circle Continues

Mar 15, 2013 - A Change of Scenery

We are not fans of Yuma or the desert, especially when the daytime temps start hitting the mid 90's in March. On Thursday, we endured a record high of 96. The "Yumans" (those RVer's who winter in the Yuma area) were rejoicing, while we were longing for the coolness of the Oregon coast. -- In spite of the heat of the day, however, Nancy, Sherry and I made the trek across the border into Mexico where I scored some good bargains and more tacky jewelry, which I love. This year, I also bought a small collapsible patio table with a bright...

Pretty Damn Nice!

Mar 2, 2013 - San Diego

What a delight to be back in San Diego fellowshipping with folks from North City Church. Both Sundays we were there we had lunch at Cheryl and Gary Williams' with several famililies from the church. We had such a good time catching up, seeing how much little children were now almost grown! It is always a blessing to me that, even though we have been apart for many years, we can always pick up the Christian fellowship as if we have never been apart. I think that is just a wee taste of heaven for us. We also went to dinner and a paly with the...

Mar 21, 2011 - NO TRAILER!!

We had a good flight back to San Diego today, got the truck from Park and Fly, and drove over to pick up the trailer. Now I could proceed with a major rant, but what would that accomplish. Tonight I am blogging from a hotel room in Santee California within a few miles of the trailer. The repair place did most of the repair work early last week and then went on to other jobs. They returned to working on our trailer this morning at 11 AM to finish the job and realized they had another problem. Unable to determine what is wrong, we are left...

Mar 4, 2011 - Santee, CA

We arrived at Padre Dam's Santee Lakes Campground in Santee, CA this afternoon. It is actually part of San Diego. The campground is run by the Padre Dam Water Commission. The sites are spacious. We have a brook running in back of us. It was a long ride - about 360 miles, which is long for us. Brad drove most of the way. He turned it over to me to drive about 50 miles between rest areas, however the next two rest areas were closed. The drive from Tempe to where I took over in CA had been pretty flat. No more had I started driving than we hit...
