Jul 28, 2015 - Leaving Crescent, Oregon

July 11th we left Crescent, Oregon, our destination Lancaster, Ca. Our first day on the road we traveled all the way down to Santa Nella, California. The weather was cloudy at first, but cleared up nicely by the time we decided it was time to shut it down for the night. We stayed at Santa Nella RV Park (a park we always stay at when passing through this area).

Pete & Jan's Travels

Apr 19, 2014 - Strawberry Fields Forever

Started the day with breakfast from the French Bakery in Cambria. Not the Napa French Laundry but freshly baked pastries to die for! Teresa found her dream car for sale on a Cambria street corner; please note the smile on her face in the attached photo. A fantastic ride up Hwy 1 on the CA coast exceeded our expectations for ocean view vistas. Nearly perfect weather provided blue skies, a mild breeze and temps hovering in the low 60s. Every curve is breath taking, ofering an OMG this is beautiful experience. Both Shepherds concur, this...

West on 2 Wheels X4

May 29, 2013 - The drive to Santa Nella

Headed out from Needles on our way to Patterson, another 4 hour drive. Boy, was it ever windy again. John wasn’t too happy as we watched our gas mpg go down and down as we climbed hills and were buffeted by the wind. We saw a large truck in front of us swaying in the wind and a couple times it looked like he was going to tip over. We were guessing that he was not carrying anything or his load was light as he was having a hard time keeping a straight line. We hoped that he made it okay. Our drive took us through Tehachapi where we had...

Yippee Tyo's!

May 19, 2012 - Corner Of Pluto & Comet

We arrived in Santa Nella which is located 12 miles west of Los Banos. We took a few quick pictures after setting up camp, and after a good night of rest we will get out and see what our camera finds! We plan to stay at as many Elks Lodges as we can on our journey of the Northwest, but this stay is at a private RV park. Mike and Nancy

Travels In Serenity

Jun 17, 2010 - Santa Nella, CA

Headed on up I-5 to our next overnight stop, Santa Nella RV Park. We had made a reservation here and they knew we didn't want to unhook the Jeep, so they had us park catty-cornered (spelling???) in two sites. And we weren't the only ones! Good for an overnight stop. We don't normally travel so many days in a row, so we were glad to be on the final leg of the trip!

Apr 4, 2010 - Destination Redding, Ca.

On April 4th (Easter Sunday) we left Lancaster in our rear view mirror & pointed the truck towards Redding, Ca. As we drove up Interstate-5 we saw several signs placed on farmlands in reference to Congress cutting off the water supply to their crops. It was done in the name of protecting a tiny little fish that gets into the irrigation systems, therefore putting it in danger extinction (they say). So many fields have been taken over by weeds, it is a real shame to see. There were a couple of signs that said, no water, no food, no jobs....

Oct 21, 2007 - Leaving Napa for LA

Today is our last day in San Francisco. We have ben babysitting Claire and Kira whil Dave and Irene have a little get-away time for a night on their own. They planned this overnight trip to NAPA and we had planned to stay until they were able to have this time together and for them to celebrate Irene's birthday. We took the girls and Irene's mother Annie, to the pumpkin patch near Napa. It is a large pumpkin patch with corn fields, haystachs made into tunnels and a pigpen with pigs. The girls had a great time and Dave and Irene met us there...
