Oct 25, 2013 - Arrived in Santa Clarita, CA

We were going to leave Lancaster on Oct 18 but Jack went to tie his shoes and put his back out, so we had several visits to the chiropractor. Oivay! Anyways we finally made it to Santa Clarita now. In the meantime, Jack had lunch with some previous co-workers, Randy, Gary, Mark, Mickey, Keith, etc, they said Jack wouldn't have survived still working there, in the present work conditions. We're having much more fun than they are anyways! LOL I went to Burbank to have a visit with Christi, in the meantime her grandmother had fallen and...

Apr 18, 2013 - Arrived in Santa Clarita, CA

We will be in Santa Clarita until our departure April 24. April 24 - It was great spending time with Emily, Anthony, Zoey, Carroll and Christi. Jack and I even got to babysit Zoey since Emily was called into work early suddenly! It was all fun times. Christi came to Santa Clarita several times, we didn't have to drive all over this time. We carried the camera with us, but just enjoyed the time there and didn't take any pics. We really enjoyed the quality time together and only wish we could be there more.

Jan 29, 2013 - Santa Clarita

Jan 29 we have finally arrived in Santa Clarita and will be here for two weeks. Sam (the cat) is happy in her surroundings and is going for walks again. She hasn’t been too happy since we left Rochester. We will be working as a campground attendant at North Fork Campground near Randle, WA in the Gifford Pinchot Nat'l Forest mid May through mid Sept 2013. The North Fork campground is located on the south edge of the Mt. Rainier National Park off Hwy 12 and road 21 outside the town of Randle close to the Cowlitz Valley Ranger District. The...

Jan 25, 2013 - Live From Burbank

I ended up just north of L.A. last night in a town called Santa Clarita. It has 2 Walmarts but one didn't own their parking lot, so I couldn't stay there (it's in a shopping mall) and the other had no Internet connection in the area that I could use! That's why I didn't send out a report yesterday. I'm stopped today (Friday) in a mall in Burbank to send this note. I'll continue on to my friend's place in Temecula (if I can find it) and may not send out anything tonight either as we may be too busy socializing! It has been raining most of...

Apr 12, 2011 - Six Flags Magic Mountain

You like rollercoasters? THEN COME TO THIS PARK !! Six Flags is known as the premium amusement park company in the USA and SFMM in LA has the most amount of coasters of any of the Six Flags parks. Years ago I saw the opening of X2 on an internet site and wondered how I would ever get to go on this ride...today would be that day. Firstly let me say that this park offers outstanding value for the price of entry, I paid $39.00 US per person as an online deal before we left Australia, for a park that has 15++ of the best coasters on the planet...

Apr 11, 2011 - Drive to Santa Clarita CA

A short trip today – just a few hours from Oakhurst to our final accommodation for this trip – The Hilton Garden Inn at Valencia / Santa Clarita CA – about 30 minutes north of LA city. I had planned for this to be our base for the last 4 nights of our trip and from here we could easily access Universal Studios and Six Flags Magic Mountain, we could have visited these parks from our Anaheim base earlier in the trip but it turned out a much better decision to stay in Santa Clarita. Firstly the Hilton Garden Inn was another nice hotel, all I...

Sep 10, 2010 - Visiting aunt Marge

We actually arrived here late yesterday afternoon. Sportsmobile got us back on the road and we took off. There is not much between Fresno and Santa Clarita but boring desert, few, if any, trees, and expanses of brown grass. Aunt Marge lives in a gated community so we had to call her so we could get in. Aunt Marge is 89 and gets around amazing well. She still drives and she took us to her favorite restaurant. Besides us, Marge's daughter, Sandy was also visiting which was an added bonus for me, Anne. We spent most of time together just...

Jul 31, 2010 - Boarding Day . . . and Bill's 70th

Well, today is Bill's 70th birthday and what a wonderful day it is! We Board the Sea Princess around 11 this morning and set off for Alaska. (Believe it or not, I THINK that's the ship . . . not sure because I have the paperwork in my purse and can't get to it right now.) Don't know why I'm so excited about this cruise. Most of you know we've been cruising like crazy the last few years since Jeff got the job at Princess. You'd think it would be a HO HUM by now. But it's not. Excited about the balcony, excited about cruising with Dianna and...

Jul 30, 2010 - Gettin' Ready for Our Next Adventure!

We're at my sister-in-law's house in Lafayette. Drove up here yesterday with Dianna and Rick Rice (they're staying at Dianne's cousin's place in Fremont). Tomorrow we get on a Princess cruise ship in San Francisco and head up the coast all the way to Alaska! This is the last cruise for the foreseeable future and we're VERY excited. Not only will we be seeing beautiful Alaska but this is the first (and probably the last) time ever that Bill and I will be in an outside cabin with a balcony. OMG!! So . . . not much to say just yet but wanted...

Apr 26, 2010 - Aloha!

Yeah! Yeah! I know the date on this posting says April 26th. And you're getting this update notice in early May. I've been busy. But here's my wrap up and, mostly, I've posted photos. So be sure to go back to all the Hawaii postings and enjoy the view. This trip was hard. If you've been following my travel blogs for a few years, you know how much fun we have on our travels. We absolutely love to travel and I get very excited about all the new places and experiences. But pain is a huge bummer. And this year, beginning with the Sedona trip,...

Feb 1, 2010 - Santa Clarita

We arrived at the Elk's in Santa Clarita, there are only 8 spaces here, but it is much quieter than Lancaster. We went to Burbank on Monday, Mom had made Prime Rib for dinner! (It was for our anniversary) Yummy! She kept the Christmas tree up so we could see it. She knew we didn't celebrate Christmas the last two years since we worked at Amazon. It was a beautiful tree. Christi came over and we played a game of Tripoly. I went back to Burbank on Tuesday with the intent of getting rid of the remaining 3 boxes I have stored there, but I...

Jan 11, 2010 - Meandering with Judy and Joel

Today we're setting off on a two week adventure. For the first week, we'll be RV'ing through . . . . . Why am I telling you? Just come on along and you'll find out what we're doing as the fun unfolds. Okay, I'll tell you about the beginning, anyway. We're heading out in the RV today, caravaning with our friends, Judy and Joel Adelman (they're the ones who have the fifth wheel that everyone calls the "Taj Mah Adelman"). First stop is the little casino town of Laughlin, Nevada. We're off!
