Oct 26, 2014 - Day 51

Hi Guys, Another day in San Francisco began with the drive from Oakland via the Bay Bridge and across the other side of the city to the Golden Gate Bridge, where we crossed over the bay and up to the Marin Headlands for some fantastic views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the city of San Francisco. After leaving the Headlands we crossed back over the Golden Gate and headed back into Fisherman's Wharf where we spent some time visiting Pier 39 and the surrounding shopping area's before we enjoyed a magnificent meal at Fisherman's Grotto. Jan 4, 2014 - Planning, planning, planning...

All trips require good planning and this trip is no exception. I have a spreadsheet of all the places we want to visit. The dates are tentative because you just never know what is going to happen! Maybe we will find ourselves in a place so cool, we may want to stay longer. Maybe we will find ourselves in a place that is so boring, we may leave earlier. Hey, you just never know, do ya? Aug 8, 2008 - Santa Clara

We made it to Santa Clara tonight. We rode up PCH and it was a beautiful ride. A little chilly. Gas at one of the very few stations was over $6/gallon. We had supper with one of my best friends, Cat. It was so good to see her. We will be spending some time with Cat and her family tomorrow as we tour Alcatraz. I will try to add pics tomorrow night of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge that we will be crossing over.

We pulled out of home at 6:10 a.m. and pulled into Santa Clara just about 6:30 pm Pacific time! We made it without loosing anyone or killing anyone! It got close! The kids got really stir crazy as we got near Vacaville, but pulled it together and are now dying to go swimming! (Taya - you were dead on with the time! Thanks) You know, this trip wouldn't have been so bad if you could cut out everything from SLC to Reno. It is one ugly road! But from Reno here, it was nice. Len's birthday is next week and he wanted a GPS for his birthday. I...
