May 19, 2009 - California Bird Videos

We have been in bird heaven watching all the birds in California. A lot of them are new birds on our list. We are doing videos of the ones we are fast enough to photograph. We have an Anna's Hummingbird at our feeder too, but have not been able to get the camera out fast enough for that one. I will be adding videos to this list as we move on down the state to San Diego, so keep checking back for more if you love birds like we do. Here is a list of the ones I am adding today: Finches, both Purple & House with an orange variant of the House...

May 19, 2009 - Change of Plans

This will be out last update from the San Juan Bautista area. We will be heading toward San Diego in the morning. We have reservations for a month and look forward to exploring the area. We have never been to San Diego before and are looking forward to visiting the zoo and many other places. We had originally planned to stop in the Pismo Beach area and also visit Santa Barbara with a stop in Solvang & Buellton. We had to change our plans and skip those areas hoping we will be able to go back and explore them later. California is a huge...

Apr 28, 2009 - Unusual Shopping & More

We have decided to extend our stay at Betable RV. We will be staying for a month at the rate of $575. Not bad for a month in California. ;-) I am having problems with my back again. I am seeing a Chiropractor and he is helping, but it may take a few more adjustments. Since we left Florida I have visited Chiropractic Doctors in Valdez, Alaska - Seaside, Oregon - Bend, Oregon and now in California. :-) I am hoping this one can get me back in order for a while. We have not done a lot of exploring, but did manage to visit a few shops in the...

Apr 20, 2009 - San Juan Bautista

We are in San Juan Bautista, California staying at the Betable RV Resort. We had a pretty easy drive because we decided to totally by-pass San Francisco and took the Oakland route. This part of California is having a record breaking heat - wave. It has been over 100 degrees and we are running the air conditioners night and day. It is suppose to only last a couple of days, thank goodness. We just heard on the news that the Harbor Seals in Santa Cruz are having babies and you can view them on the beach from a distance. This will be one of...

Dec 5, 2008 - Arrived -San Juan Bautista

Before driving to San Juan Bautista we walked to Bodega Head, saw great waves again, Pelicans,Black Tailed Deer and loads of different birds. Thursday we spent in Santa Rosa, where the man used to live that did the comic strip Peanut & Snoopy, there were lots of these statues around the town, there is also a museum about it all. We also went to see friends that we had met in Crescent City, who are travelling around like us. We left about 10.00am to drive here, with heart palpitations as we drove through the roads around San Francisco, drove...
