Sep 2, 2016 - Second Half of Our 2016 Trip

Refrigerator We got the refrigerator repaired in Lodi at the Lodi RV Center in mid-August. The total cost was $530.00 dollars but the extended warranty we have with Whirlpool is reimbursing us and our check should be waiting for us when we return home sometime in October. Pocket Door On our trip home from Lodi RV the pocket door that separates the bathroom from the living area broke when the rail on which it slides pulled out of the ceiling. I called Lodi RV when I got home and I asked if I could stop in to the shop on our way to Campbell...

Sep 30, 2015 - Duck Island Golden Bears' Outing, Rio Vista California

Mike and Sally Theroux and we were trail bosses for a California Golden Bears outing at Duck Island in Rio Vista CA. Sally and I planned the event and shopped for the food. We even visited the Point Restaurant in Rio Vista one day to check it out for our group dinner. We drove down a day early to set things up and prepare for the rest of the groups' arrival. But first Richard drove the truck and 5th wheel to a West Sacramento tire dealer to get all new tires for both vehicles. Wow! We had 10 couples altogether. Besides dinner at the Point,...

Aug 20, 2011 - Camping on the Sacramento River - Bill and Marcia Meader

On Saturday we had a visit from Jonathan’s cousin, Bill Meader and his wife, Marcia, who live in nearby Antioch. We found we have much in common, as Bill plans to retire in December after 21 years as an insurance fraud detective for the state of California. Marcia is a pysch nurse who does case management. Next year they will probably move to Indiana, near Marcia’s mom and friends, and not far from Grace College, where their daughter, Rachel, will be a student. Had a lovely visit, and Bill took us to a great restaurant/bakery/winery in Lodi...

Apr 9, 2010 - Maiden Voyage to Ducks RV Rio Vista

This was our maiden voyage. We only spent two nights but everything went great. We met Toni's sisters Paula and Ron, and Cindy and John. The weather turned cold and windy the second night so we came home early before the rain. John was a really helpfully showing me a couple of tricks about getting everything hooked up and taken back down. Can't wait to go out again. Forgot to take pictures.

Sep 14, 2009 - Trip 12: Stockton Delta KOA, Lodi CA

Welcome to Labor Day, we knew we were going to have crowds but we promised our twin nieces camping and this seemed like the best park to provide them with camping and eliminate the case of boring that they had the last trip. This is a large park that is part of the Tower Marina and sits below the levy. We got a “deluxe” spot near the back which is where the park and pool is. Deluxe means that you are able to actually have room to put chairs out without having them up against your neighbors rig. The first spot we were assigned was not deep...

May 19, 2008 - Brannan Island State Park, Rio Vista, Ca.

After 6 weeks firmly anchored in Petaluma, and having a wonderful time with family I might add, we started noticing the familiar signs of our fugue syndrome, the need to move on to that next destination, or the journey thereto! But where? We had originally planned to visit friends, Don and Joan, at their lovely location near Sutter Creek, but Joan had not been feeling well and their temps were well over a 100. Next we thought "let's go over to the coast at Bodega Bay" but, alas, the weather gods said cold and windy. In fact, the wind has...

Oct 8, 2007 - Delta Marina in Rio Vista CA

All too quickly we had to drive the rig to Delta Marina, stay overnight, put it in storage the next day and fly home to Florida. One treat, Burr Cain, a fraternity brother of Dick's, and his wife Sally drove up from Dublin CA that evening and, along with Bill Decareau, a frequent camper at Delta Marina, had dinner with us.
