We woke to rain on our last morning in the Spanish Bungalow, which was rather disappointing as we had planned a hike at Mt. Diablo before heading South to meet Jay in Monterey. We packed up, grabbed car ride breakfast at Starbucks and made the trek anyhow though, as Jen was really looking forward to showing us this stunning spot. The drive up was breathtaking. Mar 21, 2010 - Mount Diablo

We had left the Yosemite area and headed to the San Francisco area called the Delta, an area of wetlands and estuaries. We had visited San Francisco on our test run holiday in 2003 so were only using our stay as a stopover on our way back to the coast. However we did explore Mount Diablo State Park. Mount Diablo rises to a height of 3,864 feet and is surrounded by ranch lands.
