Oct 9, 2016 - Beach Day

Today was a total great day at Mission Beach. Not much to say other than we could do this in retirement- "the Art of doing nothing" Went back to condo and picked up Mexican next door. Excellent day, company, and food. Oh, and watched a Packer win over the Giants.

Jun 7, 2011 - Mission Beach, CA

We woke up to an overcast chilly day of 70 degrees and breezy. After spending three hours with the window shade repair guy we got all the night shades working in the coach again. Automatic shades are marvelous when they work but when they are broken you really wish you had the old fashion pull cords. After he left the boys and I headed to Mission Beach in San Diego.We had lunch at the Wave House and then hit beach walk with a complete outdoor amusement park. The park had a wooden roller coaster from 1920. It had been restored in 1990 but...

Jun 16, 2009 - Mission Beach & Good News

We received some great news this week. Vickie and Sammy are coming to visit us in San Diego. They will be here for 10 days. Yippee! We have not seen Vickie since her visit last summer in Alaska. It has been even longer since we visited Sammy at their home in Kentucky. We are really looking forward to spending time with them. We would love to see Ed too, but he has to work. Sammy is our youngest grandson, he is five and will be six in August. I have included a picture of him with Vickie and Ed at the ball game. They picked him to say "Play...

May 25, 2007 - San Diego

No, we haven't left yet ... at least not in the motorhome! Just a little pre-trip by car. We spent the last 5 days at Mission Beach in San Diego. Since I absolutely LOVE the ocean, when Brenda and Mick said "why don't you go with us to the condo when we go in May," I didn't wait for my arm to be twisted! 'Course, we were all a little surprised when greeted by temps in the 60's, but hey -- the ocean awaited! When you're addicted to the sights and sounds of the ocean like I am, you have to overlook "June gloom" -- even if it is 2 weeks early!...
