May 1, 2014 - A Bad Break

So 2014 started out like most other years for us. Like so many others we were filled with hope and optimism and a big bang to ring in the new year. For the first time we bought full season passes to Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort. It is close to home, convenient for staying in our mountain house and very good skiing when the weather cooperates. Normally we can get our kids to visit and join us. This year was no exception. Hi Everyone: Well we’ve been in the desert since we left Mesa Verde National Park on July 19th and although the air is dry and the scenery spectacular, it feels good to be back in cooler whether. We are now at Mammoth Lakes near Mammouth Mountain Ski Resort and wish we had Kolleen B. with us as a guide. MJ drove ahead the last 20 miles or so and found us a great campsite in Coldwater National Forest Campground. Jul 4, 2007 - And the trip begins

Hi all. Not too much to report at this time. We spent two nights in Lone Pine at a nice RV Park. Had a little glitch with the Motor Home, but have learned how to work around it. We went to Whitney Portal for a visit one day. WOW. is that ever beautiful! It was a long hard climb for Bailey from the desert bottom to the portal, but well worth the complaining.
