Mar 26, 2010 - $12.75 Later Problem Solved.

All the other RV's had already pulled out by time we left for the senior center. It was almost 3PM before we got back from the center, by 4PM we had packed up and moved to the Country Living RV Park. This is a shabby old park that is in serious need of some TLC, there is a mobile home park in the front with the RV park in the rear. The RV park section is mostly permanently parked old motor homes and trailers, our parking spot is just big enough for our coach with a little room in front for our car, we have about four feet on each side so...

Mar 25, 2010 - We Have to Move

We didn't go down to the casino until 9AM, I got a chance to play blackjack for a couple of hours before we met up with Dennis and Mary for breakfast. A couple more hours at the machines and we were home by 3PM, the bad news is nobody came home ahead, the good news is no one was a big loser. I went over to the office when we got back and was told we have to leave tomorrow so after we get back from the center tomorrow we will move down the road a couple of miles to the Country Living RV Park. The vent hoods that I ordered came in so I'll add...

Mar 24, 2010 - Free Night at Chickchansi

When we got home from the senior center this afternoon we packed up our overnight bag, then picked up Dennis & Mary Foster for our trip up to Chuckchansi Resort and Casino for our free room. We didn't have to wait around to check in this time, after an hour or so we meet at the buffet for the Wednesday night Senior special, steak and seafood for $8.99. Mary wasn't feeling well so we called it a night at 7:30PM, Dennis and Mary said they called it quits about midnight, Mary Foster's daughter Linda came up for a few hours so they so they got...

Mar 23, 2010 - Strawberry or Fudge?

Not a bad day at bingo today, I won once in the morning and Mary won the double pot in the afternoon so our bingo bag has enough nickels and dimes in it to last us a few days. Mary called the bank this morning and finally got in touch with Luis according to him he had the day off. This is not some huge multi story mega bank, it is the local Wells Fargo bank in Madera with a dozen or so employee's, you'd think they would know if one of their employee's was out to lunch or had the day off, apparently not. On our way home from our walk we...

Mar 22, 2010 - Where's Luis?

Not much going on again today, neither of us won at bingo, Mary called bingo most of the day and I helped serve the lunch. Stopped by Wells Fargo this morning to pick up some paperwork that should have come in last week, when we asked for Luis we told they couldn't find him he must have stepped out for a bit, we stopped by again about 2:30 and they said he must be out to lunch try calling later. When Mary called back about 4PM she was told he was on vacation and should be in tomorrow. Is that an incredible run around story or what? If he is...

Mar 21, 2010 - Too Much Good Food

Slept in a little this morning, for breakfast Mary made bacon, eggs, potatoes and muffins with enough bacon cooked up for BLT sandwiches later. Typical Sunday afternoon watched the NASCAR race, took a nap and did some chores around the coach. This evening we went to Cool Hand Lukes to take advantage of a buy one and get the second Steak and Bake for half price with a coupon we had. The baked potato, sour dough rolls and ranch beans were very good, the steak was excellent, tender and tasty. After dinner we went for a much needed walk

Mar 20, 2010 - A Long Day At The Center

Today was Madera Senior Club fun day at the center. We were there by 8AM to get everything ready for the day, we had about 65 members for our catered corned beef and cabbage lunch. We tried a new caterer this time, the price was right and the food was good except some of the corned beef was a little tough. I won a couple of games during the afternoon session so we will have enough to play for another two or three days. When we got home about 4PM our butt was pretty much dragging so we didn't go for our walk and called it a day early.

Mar 19, 2010 - Relaxing Routine

Since daylight savings time began the weather has been in the mid seventies during the day and upper forties at night. Our routine lately has been leave for the center about 9AM, get back home about 3PM, spend a couple of hours doing some miscellaneous chores around the coach then have a light bite to eat while we watch the O'Reilly Factor, at 6PM we go for our evening walk and get back about 7PM while it is still light out. Mary usually calls it a day and is in bed by 8PM while I bounce around the coach the rest of the night. Not very...

Mar 18, 2010 - I Miss My Hair

Because I forgot to wear my hat Tuesday when I was helping Myron I ended up with a sunburned head and it reminded me that I sure miss my hair! It came in handy to keep my head from getting sun burned, it was also a great cushion when I banged into things plus it looked pretty good up there. Another one of those joys of getting older I guess?

Mar 17, 2010 - He Knew He Was Getting Old

Back to our normal routine today at the center except that today is St Patrick's so we did our best imitation of being Irish. At lunch today Dennis Foster said he knew he was getting old when his bank started giving him his free calendar one month at a time.

Mar 16, 2010 - Is She Hot Or What?

Myron Cramer came by this morning to help me with a problem I have with the aqua hot system, he has been a technician and service mgr. for Paul Everett RV the last 38 years but has been off the last couple of years battling cancer. It took him a couple of hours to figure out the problem the next three hours were spent shooting the breeze and going to lunch, I think I'm getting the hang of this retired life style. Mary went off to bingo where she won a pot in the morning session and three and a half pots in the afternoon session, maybe I'm...

Mar 15, 2010 - Just a Ho Hum Day

Today was a pretty ho hum day, our body clock hasn't switched over to day light savings time yet because we still wanted to sleep in the extra hour again this morning. Went to the center for bingo and lunch, didn't win any pots today. For dinner we finished off the pot of homemade chicken noodle soup Mary made on Saturday, after which we went for our walk stopping by Wal-mart to pick up a gallon of milk.
