May 1, 2017 - Laughlin. NV 2017

Maiden voyage in our 2014 Itasca Solei 34T. Our first trip ad fulltime RVers. This is an annual golf tournamentthat my husband Ralston has attended for 4 years. The previous two years we had our faithful 1996 Jayco Eagle Class C that was 29' and I came along. But we traded her in for the Itasca a couple months ago We had many adventures with our daughters in the Jayco but she was worn out and too small for us to feel comfortable living in. We sold our house and all our possessions, except what is now in our current RV. We have named her Joy...

Oct 30, 2012 - Doing Well At Bingo

Drove into Laughlin this morning because I wanted to see the car collection at Don Laughlin's Riverside Casino, as usual I forgot to bring my camera. A very interesting and varied collection with very informative placards, not so big that you get burned out going through it. We stayed for the lunch buffet and a little gambling before heading back stopping by a couple of thrift stores and Wal-Mart along the way. We were back to the AVI in time for Mary to go to the 4:30 bingo session where she won a $25 game, I went with her to the evening...

Oct 29, 2012 - Skywalk

One of the items on my bucket list has been to walk on the Grand Canyon Skywalk (www.grandcanyonwest.com/skywalktour.php), well today is the day to cross it off. The Grand Canyon Skywalk is located at the end of the Grand Canyon in the middle of expletive nowhere, 90 miles from Laughlin and the last 21 miles is some of the roughest, washboard, dusty, twisting, turning gravel road that wound it's way up to the canyon. Vast expanses of beautiful Joshua tree along the way. I knew it was $33 to go out on the walk but I didn't know it would be...

Oct 27, 2012 - Another Chilly Morning

It was 22F this morning when we were ready to pull out but the air is so dry here that there isn't even any frost on the car. A lot of winding highway through the mountains with numerous 6% downhill grades for the 180 mile drive to the AVI Resort RV Park in Laughlin Nv. as we drop from 7300' in Flagstaff to 504' in Laughlin. We got there in time for the 4:30 bingo session where Mary won $25 with a break for 2 for 1 buffet dinner then back again for the 7:30PM session where I won $25.

Mar 14, 2011 - Ending our Laughlin NV Stay and Moving North

We originally were going to Laughlin to take advantage of an inexpensive week at the Riverside RV Park which was part of the Casino. We made the short trip from Lake Havasu RV Park on Friday and setup in Laughlin on a middle level site. The RV Park is large with 100’s of spaces and built in the side of a hill so a lot of the spaces are on terraces with views, about 5 or 6 different levels. It is very nice (and different) to look over the lights of the casinos in the evening. Friday night we went to the seafood buffet at the Riverside. It...
