Jun 7, 2009 - Golden Bears HitchHiker Rally at Jackson Rancheria CA

We packed up the RV and left Sunday morning for our first Golden Bears HitchHiker Rally at Jackson Rancheria southeast of Sacramento. The Golden Bears are a great group of fun people and we had a wonderful time even though we couldn't stay for all of it. Sally and Mike Therow, from Roseville, are members of the group. Jackson Rancheria is an Indian gambling casino and a beautiful, brand new RV Park. The facilities at the RV Park are awesome. Those who went to the Casino were impressed with that too.

We just got back from the first North/Central California Heartland Owners Rally at the Jackson Rancheria RV park in the middle of gold country. What a great time we had! On Saturday we took a drive up Highway 49 to Plymouth and toured 5 of the 39 wineries in the area. Amador Wine County is in the heart of the historic Sierra Foothills. The grape harvest reaches fruition in early...

Breakfast was courtesy of Starbucks, with a nice outdoor terrace view of . . . the roadworks on the highway. Lovely. Time to leave South Lake Tahoe behind. With the Nevada/California state line running through the town, it's a little schizophrenic - one half all casinos and clubs, the other all little hotels and chain food outlets. I had hoped to go to the quaintly-named...

Hi everyone! We are back on track! Here we are at the all new Jackson Rancheria RV Resort. It is just beautiful up here. The park opened on February 2nd. We were privileged to move into our spot on February 6th. The club house is awesome inside. They have a wide screen TV in a sitting room with a fireplace. The club house capacity is 200. The area that the park is located was once a very high hill. They leveled it off and put 100 premium sites with views all the way around. We have a view of the mountains, forest & rolling hills. The back...
